Trans fault goin haywire?

Hey guys got a question about my 2014 Outlander. When I start the bike up the trans indicator will go into to fault mode unless I’m in low or high. Once I have the bike warmed up seems to work fine. kind of guessing battery issue, but it also could be the linkage adjustment I suppose, because once it warms up and the tolerances change everything is ok. Thoughts?

Need G2 Outlander/Renegade rear trailing arms for modification!!

Looking for anyone who wants to sell or donate 🙂 a set of rear trailing arms for a G2 Renegade or Outlander.

We are having major issues with the clearance of the rear outer CV boot clamp and trailing arm causing small rocks to push the clamps off and wreck CV boots.

I am wanting a set to try and modify for extra clearance.

I do realize there are aftermarket arms available that address this issue, BUT they include a 2" stretch and 2" lift. I dont want a lift…..I could deal with the stretch, but I dont get the choice!

So if anyone has a set they’d part with, please PM me ASAP!! If you’ll pack them up, Ill send you a shipping label…..you tape it on and drop at UPS and its all done!

Thanks in advance!

help with motor

Hi guys,

I need some advice.
I recently rebuild my 500 as it had piston slap it has 3000 miles. I used oversized Wiseco pistons (502cc)with ceramic skirts and re-bored the sleeves piston to bore clearances where set at .0038. 500 miles later the piston slap is back only on the front cylinder just like before. The bike was rebuilt by a reputable guy with lots of experience but I cannot work out why its come back so quickly. I know there a common problem with these engines and the way that front cylinder wears on the thrust side/intake side. The pistons have 4 oil control holes to lubricate the skirt of the piston whereas the stock ones had 2. The bike has not been tipped over or drowned or overheated, I really need some advice to a cure to this problem because it gets costly rebuilding every 500 miles lol.

Cheers

New project: air compressor with GX160 Honda engine

Had a buddy drop off a wheelbarrow style compressor yesterday. He farms and it was an old one he kept in the back of a farm truck. One of his farm hands flipped the truck a couple years ago, throwing the compressor out. Looks like I’m missing the pull start and the air cleaner assembly. It’s been stored in his shop, so hasnt been sitting out, but the sparkplus was out. It has a Honda GX160 motor on it. He said I could have it as he’s bought a new one.

I tried spinning the motor over by sticking a screwdriver in what’s left of the recoil starter and it won’t budge.

Any ideas where I should start on turning it over? Any kind of safety/ lock out feature that might have tripped that would keep it from pulling over?

It’s this company, but has a Honda GX160 motor.

2001 Sportsman 500 DUSE gear selector question

Hi everyone. I recently bought a 2001 Sportsman 500 Ducks Unlimited Special Edition from a guy and have been doing a lot of much-needed maintenance. The gear selector boot was pretty much non-existent so I took the thing apart, bought a new boot, new o-rings, new springs, and cleaned the box completely. I am reassembling it now but I cannot remember how the centering spring and centering dowel go—does the dowel slip into the hole first and then the spring on top of it, or does the spring go first and then the dowel, and then it’s all compressed when you bolt the boot on?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
