What does the etc switch do? I have a 93 2×4 250 it would not idle I pulled the etc switch and it runs perfect. I’m not sure what the switch does and if it’s ok to just by pass it? Thanks for the help
First off id like to say thanks to everyone in advance and im happy to be a member here. My atv is an 85 trx 250 fourtrax. I bought it not running and can not figure it out. I’m pretty mechanically inclined and my father has been a mechanic for 40 years and this thing has us stumped. At first it seemed like it wasn’t getting fuel so i bought a new carb. Still wouldn’t start. So i proceeded to check the timing which was good, and i bought a new coil and ngk spark plug just in case it was weak spark. the issue is it still wont start and the plug gets soaked every time! I also shut off the fuel and gave it a shot of starting fluid and nothing
I’m looking to retire my hole shots and thinking about getting zillas for a light all-around tire. Right now I can’t decide on 27 or 28". Will I have any fittment issues running 28’s on the stock beadlock rims? I hear they run a bit small. I plan to add 1.5" wheel spacers. I also have the fender guards installed.
Is there supposed to be a sealing washer on the oil drain plug? Manual states to replace it when you change the oil. Drained my oil today, and no seal on the drain plug. If it is supposed to have one, does anyone know the part number. Having trouble finding it on the Polaris website. The bike is a 2015 570 SP touring model.

I recently picked up a used 2008 Renegade 800, and have been recently experiencing issues with the speedo. The unit was displaying the mileage and vehicle speed until last week when everything quit working.
I still had the tach function and hour meter working properly but not speedometer or odometer function.
Took it into the dealer to have the ECM unit updated and a maintenance code cleared along with a spare key programmed.
I bought a new speed sensor and trouble shot all electronics including the diodes and all was operating as per OEM specification.
I installed a new speed sensor yesterday and the speedometer function has returned, but the unit will not recall the odometer reading.
Before this all happened the reading was 2112 kms and now it reads "0". Am I missing something here?
I’ll start out by saying I’ve never been real into forums, however I’ve come across a lot of useful information on this site, so thanks guys! Any way on the the important stuff….. Last weekend while riding along the fan blade decided to snap off and ruin my day. After lots of research it’s obviously a common thing. I’ve read somewhere on here where a guy found a fan online and was able to match up closely to OEM and save big$$$$$. However Im impatient and want to ride now! so I decided to go to the local Advance auto parts and pick up their commonly stocked 12" fan thinking I’ll throw it on to get me by until the OEM comes 500000 weeks later. Lord behold I take the fan shroud out, after a quick look at the motor, the bolt pattern Matched right up!!!!! Within an hr had the blade and motor switched out from the new aftermarket fan and bolted to the OEM shroud at a cost of 52$ and some change!!! Now I don’t have time to proove its reliability but it’s 97 degrees here in Florida and I rode her hard last night and it worked flawlessly.. I would also add is not only quieter than before but has a ring mounted around the fan blades (seems so me better design for off-road machines) Hope this helps everyone, might even help some of the sportsman/scrambler 850/1000 guys.
