Max bore

Hi folks, im new to the formum. picked up a 2001 grizzly 600 last week. less than 700 miles on the clock. looks to have been rode a little rough. smokes very bad. thought it would need a new top end. after pullng the cylinder and piston i see the 1.0 stamp on top of the piston. damn already bored. i measured up the piston at 95.88 then the cylinder at 96.0. according to the manuel that is twice the piston to cylinder wall clearance. so something is going to give. get a new cylinder which would allow me to go back to standard bore with a new piston or buy new piston and bore to 2.0. has anyone gone that far on their cylinder bore? i presume its ok or there wouldnt be any offerings for pistons for 97.0 bore. piston is in good shape and is a yamaha 1.0 piston. i have a few more questions for later

Does anyone snorkel?????

I just out on a kit today, and 6hrs later I realized I didn’t do enough research. In my head it’s poorly designed and could be so much better. I won’t say who I bought it from, but please anyone that has snorkel a scrambler 1000 please share some info or private message me and let’s talk, any info be great.

New shoes

After 100 miles and getting a flat on the stock tires I decided to put some new shoes on the machine I got for my dad. 26x9x12, 26x11x12 Outback XTs. I have been running them on my 2014 570 and love them so I figured what the heck. Now it looks and should go like a real four wheeler.

Clutch sheave shredded…anything else wrong

Today I was on a ride and a noise clearly coming from the clutch went from bad to worse quickly. Limped home and tore it apart to find clutch sheave shredded and belt missing teeth. I can see those parts need replaced but what about this plastic piece that presumably holds the inner sheave in place…or does it? Guess I’m not sure how it’s supposed to look but it’s clearly ground down. Does that matter? Thoughts? Thanks.
