A few weeks ago I came to an agreement with my local dealer to buy a new 15 model 6×6 1000xt. I am getting the bed sprayed with rhino liner, shock spacers, tires and wheels. I’ve hit a speed bump when we tried to put 30x9x14" silverbacks on it… They clear each other by 3/4 but hit when you drive over anything that just compresses he middle set of axles. Several people online have cleared 30×11 silverbacks on this very machine so my question is do you think there is a difference in the 9 wides and 11’s? What can I do besides $500+ worth a longer rear trailing arms?
My second question is concerning the 6×6 being limited to 50mph. Do y’all think swapping out the Ecu with a standard outlander 1000 would get me around that or is there a better route? I don’t do a lot of recreational mudding…. I bear hunt and ride a lot of paths and I’d like to be able to keep up with our 97 foreman…
A friends’ Dad was having trouble with his TRX300 Fourtrax and he asked me about it , he told me that when he reved the engine the bike would shut down and not restart and blow the fuse , come to find out , when you put a meter on the battery with the engine running at idle , it would show 15 volts , but when you reved the engine it would go to 20 volts and the fuse blow , so I sold him a rectifier for $20 and that fixed the problem , but boy did I leave money on the table , I had already gave him a price and I went to Partzilla and found that rectifier goes for $195 , well I did my good deed for the week ———– I never seen this one before and thought I’d share it
Been looking for a front bumper for awhile now other than the bison bumpers just need one that doesnt rise too high and cover my lightbar but also needs to be low enough to deflect brush and sticks.
Not into a "cool" look but wanting more ground clearance due to rocks / trees I go over on the way to my deer stand…is a 2 inch lift the place to start? Sure is cheaper than bigger tires. 2015 Rubicon, foot shift, EPS…any brands to look at or websites to order a lift from? Will a lift affect gear reduction, etc?
Took the grizz up to the hunting camp this past weekend! Man i want to move up there! Camp is located about 25 miles south of Plattsburgh if you’re familiar with NY. Nothing better than trail riding up a mountain!
Just wondering if someone have the same problem on their 2004 sportsman 400.
When driving it with AWD off, the AWD indicator turns on for a few seconds sporadically. I also find that it seems to be a litte harder to turn to the right side and it seems to have a high pitch sounds coming from the left front wheel.
A friend of mine think the AWD on one side might not be disengaging. I found a lot of information on AWD not engaging but not the opposite.
I’ve been riding a friend’s (wgc) 660 in Colorado and Moab for a few years and decided it was time to get my own. As fate would have it, I found an exceptional deal in Denver on a 2009 700 EPS and wgc went up and bought it for me (and dubbed it "The Blue Beast"!). I will be heading out to pick it up in a little over a week, plus do some riding with wgc.
I live in Northern California (Auburn, CA) and look forward to many upcoming rides and meeting new friends.
I also look forward to learning from the expertise on this forum.
This problem has been going on since I got my grizz. I found out that one of the reasons I got it was because the boot blew off the carb. We tried to rebuild the carb and broke the overflow tube off in the bottom of the bowl. So I bought a china made carb and got the same thing. Worked on the china made carb for awhile and just gave up. Bought another carb and rebuilt it and as soon as the grizz got warmed up it blew the boot of again. It will idle fine and run fine until it gets warmed up. I really don’t know what to do. dezz and keith20mm have given some real good explantions of things to do. It is still blowing the boot off the carb and intake.. Would appricate some help if possible. Thanks for the help already given and the help I will be getting. Can it be timing or valves or maybe cdi box.. Please HELP!!!
