I would like to start out by saying this seems to be a very well layed out forum.And hopefully informative and educational along with fun. I have browsed through many different threads in search of a 04 330 magnum wiring diagram that is point to point connections with colors and such . I did an engine swap last night and went from a 330 to a 325 . Ran great two different times . Then this afternoon my cdi let the factory smoke out !!! I feel it maybe my fault switching from one engine to the other. hookin the wires back up incorrectly.long and short does anyone have a diagram thanks Dan

Hey fellas my first post so I apologize if I’m not doing this right.. I recently bought a 1987 Trx 350D fourtrax foreman owner said it hasn’t ran in years picked it up for $200! Oil change, new plug, some gas and a battery and it fired up.. Now the fuel pump has been giving me grief it has been working on and off randomly. One wire of it pulled out of it so I condemned it ruined. Called local dealer and they want $166 so I said no since I hardly paid that much for it. Bought a regular inline 12v pump at autozone hooked everything up to original wires and ran great. Soon after I realized has coming from the carb vent hoses.. So I need a way to regulate this or control the flow. Any ideas? It’s only like 3-9 psi pump

It makes sense if the fan motor gets hot, that the vent line would allow hot air to escape. But, is it more of a drain vent ? After disassembling my burnt out fan i noticed that the entire back was sealed up pretty damn good, combination of resin and sealant, but water still managed to get in there , get under the terminal cap and corrode the terminal contact, and those were sealed as well. So, would it be wise to seal / RTV any seams , cracks or areas on the motor housing that water could get into to further waterproof it ??? except the breather tube of course ….Im racks deep everyweekend !!!

Bought a 2010 420 rancher with power steering needing an engine rebuild. had engine completely torn down and rebuilt by pro atv guy. Can run for about half an hour and honda goes into what I call limp mode. Will run at a low idle only till it cools down and then runs fine again. Have burped cooling system several times. Engine hot light never comes on but works, fan works and even shuts off and on when problem occurs. Is something shutting down fuel? Also sometimes when I go to start the machine the throttle is locked, takes lots of pressure to move it but then is fine? Great machine otherwise.

Just bought a 15′ 1000 XT Outy brushed aluminum carry over a couple of weeks ago. I love the thing. It has everything i wanted that my King Quad was missing. I read many posts on this site before the purchase and the information here really helped me in my decision. It came down to Polaris and Can Am. After riding with friends that had Polaris I went Can Am. The only thing that bothers me some is the exhaust heat on a hot day riding slow. I added HVAC tape to the inside of the plastics and that helped a lot (thanks to this site). Still leery about removing the heat shields and such. Oh did i mention the POWER!!!! That’s nice too!!!

Hey guys, my sportsman in my sig I just sold. Been looking at a 850 HL edition. Dealer has a real good price on a 2016. I have a few questions though…..obviously where we ride it’s smooth open trails with creek crossings, logging style roads and some small inclines to get where the mud holes and fun stuff is. How are these doing for trail riding? No rocks. But unfortunately I have to do some trail riding to get where we wanna go. Sometimes it’s nice to take a break and ride off into the woods and venture away from the mud. If there is mud though, we are playing in it! Just curious if they suck on the trail to where I’d regret it?

Obviously the 850 doesn’t have power steering but Im ok with that as my 850XP doesn’t/didn’t and didn’t bother me.

Yes…I’ll be honest. I have looked at the XMR 850/1000 outlanders too. But I’d like to stay with Polaris…..the trail riding capabilities is my only concern. I’ve seen some XMR’s on the trails riding fine, but no sportsman highlifter models so I have no experience with my eyes so I’m asking you guys! Thanks.

Just wondering if someone have the same problem on their 2004 sportsman 400.

When driving it with AWD off, the AWD indicator turns on for a few seconds sporadically. I also find that it seems to be a litte harder to turn to the right side and it seems to have a high pitch sounds coming from the left front wheel.

A friend of mine think the AWD on one side might not be disengaging. I found a lot of information on AWD not engaging but not the opposite.

I also have te brake light that comes in once in while. Any thoughts or known problem

Hello. I am going to look at a 1997 Sportsman 500 tomorrow. I would like to know what to look for, be aware of, and what this might be worth. The machine has been in storage and not been run in two years. It turns over, but does not start. What would a fair price be for this if in is not in too bad of shape? What does one go for that is running and in good shape? I don’t mind fixing something up like this if it won’t be costly, depending on what it might need. A little history…I currently have an 02 Sportsman 700 Twin, that I did some work on, like replacing the starter bendix, drive belt, all fluids, plow mount and winch. I have some experience moving around a machine, just not too major. Any help is appreciated.
