Hello everyone, not new to the BRP family but new to Can-Am ATVs. Hoping to pick out our ’16 Outlander Max XT 1000R next Saturday. Anyways look forward to chatting with everyone and learning more about this bike.
I have 2 new scramblers. One is a 2016 ( wife’s)and the other is a 2015( mine). Both bought new in the last month. I have read about dif covers breaking and frame supports needed. I will be riding the 15 and will push it much harder then my wife on the 16. What upgrades will be needed first? And should I upgrade both? Mostly fast trails and very little mud or water. Won’t even run 4 wheel drive very much. I will be putting a wench and plow on the 15. I just want to address the weak points before any failures. Thanks

has anyone else had experience with them? im going to share mine.
2 years ago… cv clicking… ordered a hunterworks axle… tossed it on… good to go.
in the past 2 years. between being busy with life, and getting a second quad, the grizz gets limited use.
so at the end of last season… cv clicking. from the same axle. first ride this year… snap. inner joint grenaded…so while my 3 remaining oem axles are at about 3000 miles each, the hunterworks made it all of 2-300 miles.
so i emailed hunterworks…
"at that time we did not offer a warranty on axles. there is nothing we can do"
my only response was that i knew there wasnt anything you were legally obligated to do. i just thought you might stand behind your products a bit more than that.
ive got their sheave… its a quality piece of hardware i suppose. but their axles… nope. ill go elsewhere, thanks.
now for the replacment i havent decided. im torn between getting a $200 rhino axle, and finding a ~$60 used oem axle.
so I put in for a quote for a 2016 570 touring out the door from two local dealers, and within 10 minutes I got a call from the "Polaris Concierge" who asked me what specific features I was interested it. And she confirmed that the 2017 racks "should" fit on the prior year models as there is no difference in the size/specs of the racks from 2016-2017. SO if you have an older model, and want the newer front rack extender, or full metal rear rack, you’re in luck

if you’re in the market to buy, buying new is a good choice if you can get your hands on a 2016 model with up to $2000 rebates during the summer clearance.

Just looking for some honest feedback from XMR owners who are actually running them. I already own a CVTech so I know all about this clutch, but I’m looking at upgrading and I have a couple questions,
1. Can you tell me which one your running QSC, STM, Gates?
2. Where you purchased it
3. Did it come set-up properly the first time, or did you have to do adjustments and how did you find the adjustments were to make?
For the record I really do like my CVTech, but it does have limitations on a 30"+ tire mud bike.
