Hey guys! I bought a new 850 sp in January and it’s awesome! Love the machine so far! The only thing I’m concerned about is it has recently developed a belt or gear whine. It does it in low and high range. Seems to be in the same rpm range in both ranges. Sometimes i can feel something rough in the drivetrain. I noticed the whine slightly when i was riding in Wisconsin in July. I didn’t have a chance to do anything besides service it before i went to West Virginia the first week of August. All fluid levels are good and it got quite a bit worse in West Virginia. It is almost unbearable at times. I am planning on taking to a dealer after Labor Day beings i have extended warranty on it. It has just a touch over 500 miles on it now. Just curious if anyone on here has the same issues or any information on it. Thanks for any help in advance!
I’ll try and not make this long and complicated. 570 L 2016 30 miles on it. (Still breaking in) everything was fine until about 20 miles. Now after she gets warm (about 5 min drive) I hear a squeal in the clutch. Not EXTREAMLY loud, but way different than the last 20 miles. My question is could it just be this is the way it sounds? I hear the stock belts suck. I do have the 30 month warranty and dealer is 2 weeks out and I’d rather not take it in right now. My Kawasaki prairie never sounded like this, but my outtie is no prairie either. I did vary my speeds and never held rpm and speed for too long just for break in….( however, I would like to peg it and see how fast it REALLY is)
Well grandma and grandpa took the Lil one for the day and let the wife and I get out on the Wolverine.
We actually found some good trails close to home that some people have been building. Next time through I’ll video it.
Sad news is alot of our riding area has turned into fresh logging territory so things are turned upside down with them trying to keep us out while they work. This is bad news for riding and horrible news for the upcoming hunting season as all the animals are being driven away AGAIN
So i recently purchased a 2003 yamaha kodiak 450 and it appears that a mouse got in it because all of the wires are chewed up and right now i need a gray plug for my display to function it has 6 wire leads coming off of it top left is a dark green wire, top middle is a baby blue, top left is white, bottom right is also white, bottom center is red and black and bottom left is yamaha blue and white so i am looking for a wiring harness i have found some on ebay mostly from a 2004 none for a 2003 just trying to confirm that it will have my plug so please let me know if the 2004 should have my plug thanks.
So went riding yesterday, nothing crazy but was pretty muddy. Got home last night and saw was I thought was a twig around my control arms. Went to remove it today and it didn’t budge, cause it was an 1/8th inch piece of wire wrapped a couple times. Not sure how it didn’t rip a cv boot, but it did push the inner boot up about 2 inches and rubbed the paint off the shaft. Doesn’t look like it’ll affect anything. Not sure if the guards would have prevented this cause things still happen, almost ordered some from thor last week too lol.
Found my prop shaft, front and rear to be loose. Got the front out, now looking at the back..
Do I have to remove the rear diff, or can I slide it back like I did with the front drive shaft?
I guess as a side note, the rear was not nearly as loose as the front, but there is some wiggle. How much is normal? Is that coupler attached to the rear diff spline normally a bit wiggly?
If this is gunna be a big job (removing rear end) I want to be sure it’s actually a problem.
I am going to taylor park Colorado from here in north Carolina.does anybody on this thread have a sportsman 500HO(2009) AND RIDE THESE ELEVATIONS AND KNOW WHAT JETS THEY ARE RUNNING.any help would be appreciated.i hate to waste a few days trying to get mine running to where I can enjoy myself out there.thanks in advance:thanks:
I’m trying to figure out why my 1987 350D is acting like it’s not getting fuel.
Few things you need to know.
1. I just replaced the fuel pump. There’s a part of me wondering if I wired it backward. There’s a green and blue wire from running along the frame where I disconnected the old fuel pump. Just in case… which is positive?
2. Fuel Filter – I changed it. The new one is a Honda OEM. However, while changing it, the 30 year old hose broke. I replaced it but obviously with a straight hose from O’Reillys. As such, the fuel filter isn’t seated in the original location. One thing I’ve noticed (could be nothing) is that the fuel filter doesn’t have any fuel in it that I can see.
I’ll post a vid of it trying to start when I can. But I’m sure you can use the imagination. I’m using the electric start with a new battery.
I have started it and ridden a couple times since. However, 3 times its died on me. It just sort of acts like it’s not getting fuel then dies. One time, I went for a walk swearing and kicking weeds… in the 10 minutes it took to calm down it started up and I made it home.
Long/short – I feel it’s not getting consistent fuel and/or there’s a flaw in the line that’s causing air or water to get in.
