So i have been troubleshooting why my atv wouldnt start, well it led to replacing the solenoid, and buying a bigger battery (more CCA). Well today i brought my (week old) battery to be tested at Autozone, it was fully drained but said it was good and needed to charge, well i returned it got the bigger battery, well installed it earlier tonight and almost right away when i tried to start it it started draining power til no lights would come on at all, so i started disconnecting the POS terminal when it sparked, and felt hot, remembering it was a sign of a grounded starter i felt the starter it was extremely hot, way hotter than it should of been for the short time i tried starting, before i decide to pay for a new starter i would like an additional opinion or two. let me know what you think about it just wanna start riding again.

1999 Grizzly 600

Hello all, I am new to this forum stuff, I used one for my truck a while back, and I am not real savvy. But I just got a 99 grizzly and i bought it for almost nothing with the understanding that it needed a clutch. I called my local dealer and asked some questions.
basically the symptoms are: it will drive, but you have to play with the throttle some until it "catches" and then it goes, and then it goes like a raped ape. From a dead stop, it won’t just go once in gear. I was told it’s the clutch, but I watched a few youtube videos and it doesn’t seem real hard to remove, but I learned it has 3 clutches. How do i know which one it is? Someone said to replace all 3, well that’s really not in the budget. And my dealer said that they don’t sell clutches, you have the buy the individual parts and replace the failed part.
Also, one more thing, the idle seems off, too high. I am not sure how to adjust the carb or where to even look to see if it is just the carb or what. I did spray some carb and choke cleaner into the intake as the previous owner said it had been sitting for several months.

I’ll need some more advice down the road, but first things first, I want to get it drivable again.

Thanks in advance!

New member in Texas…could use some help

Hello everyone my name is Eddie located in Mid-West Texas, I have watched this forum without registering for some time, lots of great folks posting here.
I recently purchased an older (abused) Polaris Ranger UTV (2003 Ranger 4×4)
The 4 wheel drive was not working. I removed the right side front panel cover and saw the power wires (brown/Grey) were broken off FLUSH at the side plate on the front differential.. I there a way to re-attach those wires? can the plastic plug that seals the wires in the side plate be removed and new wires attached..I have NOT been able to located a used side plate with wires.. only a complete differential… Can anyone post some ideas or recommendations..??

Thanks
Eddie in Texas
