Need to know axle sizes for custom build.

Whats up everybody, im in school to be a machinist, and i was thinking i could probably make an 11 tooth pinion gear to mate with a 48 tooth rancher or recon gear ring. (im not gonna be able to make a ring gear yet lol)

So im wanting to make a 4.0 for a honda 300 so i can put an arctic cat 4.0 with diff locker up front.

If anyone has calipers and has their rear diff apart i need the measurements (teeth and right beside teeth), as well as ring gear diameter for honda ranchers axle, i will take my recon apart and measure that myself, and i dont have a 300 yet, (favorite atv, def getting one soon) So i need the axle measurement on that too, and is the 350d and 250 the same axle? thinking it is since they use the same ring gears.

If anyone could do that id really appreciate it, ive been searching for like 3 days, not much out there, thats why they call it custom lol. If i can put rancher ring gears in a 350d rear end i would love to do that. Id prefer not to but i may just have to swap a rancher rear end in to do this, but i really want full tubes, rancher rear ends really arent that good.

When i do this mod i will post up blueprints of the pinion gear as well so that anyone who would want a 4.0 can take the print to a machine shop and have it made.

First post RobertFL

I live in North Central Florida, I am 53 years old. Until 3 days ago I had not owned a 4 wheeler since 1993. I bought a 2001 Xplorer 250 4×4 Friday afternoon. It runs, drives and the seat and plastics are all in good shape.. but it still needs a few parts.. front CV shafts and upper steering bushings..I used it at my hunt club Sunday to drive down a wet muddy road with a ladder stand and a few tools on board, no problems. Today I went to see a local guy who works on 4 wheelers in his spare time..Well he had a 2003 Mossy Oak 500 HO in his shop that he was going to tighten up and sell for his friend, I wrote 2 checks one for the 500 HO and another to fix a few things on the 500. I had already ordered the parts for the Xplorer 250 so I will fix it and put it up for sale, I think the 4 stroke 500 will be a better fit for my needs.

03 660 carb question

Easy question for most of you. The my 03 grizzly has 3 jets in the bowl area of the carb. The main, idle, and bypass jets. The main and bypass jets have the same thread and will fit in either port. Does the main jet a bigger opening that the bypass? hope this makes sense.

Decisions

I have a 2001 400ex in decent shape but it needs a few things. I was wondering if over the winter I should PC the frame and fix everything and make the bike PERFECT or I could take the $600-$800 it would take to do this and save for a 450r.
