I am a new member and needing a little impute on an random engine shut down problem. It all started when I overheated my machine, due to. coolant bleeders leaked at about 2000 miles. The reservoir is very hard to see coolant level, my mistake and low coolant, hot day, equals overheated system and goes into limp mode. Since then I have been experiencing a random engine shut down. I found cracked spark plug boots, replaced them with new factory boots (double zip tied the boots). I mounted a external fuel pressure gauge and fuel was not a problem. Went through electrical connections, battery voltage and all grounds. I am currently at over 5000 miles and still researching a solution, local dealer mechanic out of suggestions. The engine will shut down, I turn off key and back on again and engine starts till the next shut down, 20-200 miles later. Usually not a problem, except riders coming up behind me. I am now designated rear position rider. I bought the machine a year ago from last May, crate machine (lost in inventory). I have ordered new wires and boot ends from MSD.
Hey everybody!
I recently bought a ’04 Grizzly 660 for 800 bucks (not running) and It needing new wiring harness and carb rebuilt. anyway, I got it all fixed up and started her up and I noticed light gray smoke coming somewhere in the front of the engine. Any suggestions? I noticed that I was very low on oil, could that be the problem?
Hi!
I have a grizzly 700 2012. 1300km. It have a "flapping sound" from the belt area when i drive on the road.. is this typical for belt driven systems? Or is it tuneable? Maybe its from another place, some panels or metal vibrating??
Is it any thypical stuff that should be checked to make it less noisy?
Hey guys I just joined up. I live in SW Ontario Canada. And I ride a 2013 Outlander 800R Max. Hit me up if you’re in from the area and looking to ride. Cheers
After finally deciding to switch from my Grizzly to a new Can AM 850,I also added new 28" radial Maaxis tires and new rims. I was really looking forward to my first hunting trip with it. Most of our riding is slow and usually less than 20 kph. Some initial thoughts.
The "Can AM" clunk was unexpected and is very annoying, something I did not have with my Yamaha. I have now learned to use the throttle in a way that makes it bearable, not great but bearable. The drive train is very noisy compared to my Yamaha
At moderate speed on hard packed roads , 30kph , there is a rythmic hum coming from the rear diff that seems odd to me. Again something that was unexpected.
The real disappointment is however the heat this thing throws, It is virtually un-rideable after 15 minutes of cruising around, my legs are very warm, my ass feels like it is on fire. I have also melted my muck boot on the left side .Hardly what I expected from a new $15k ATV.
When I asked the dealer if they have a fix for this issue, they claimed they never have had a complaint reguarding heat. What a pile of crap. He also suggested I am riding too slow. WTF ? It is so hot I cannot ride it without feeling significant heat. I am concerned about actually burning my leg through riding boots
This info on this site is fantastic, thanks for the tips. I do not believe a customer should be forced to come up with a solution to a problem that is so wide spread, how ever BRP appears to not give a s*!t about its customers
Has anyone tried the Heat Disipation Kit that BRP now sells. They claim the heat is a non issue, however they do sell a kit for heat problems.Bastards
Some things I really like on his unit, the power steering system is fantastic, the comfort for my passenger is great, until the heat reaches her legs. The fit and finish on the Can Am is first class as is the Linq system. Too bad I cannot stand to ride it. Any tips on heat control would be appreciated, she will be up for sale soon
My plastics on my bike is not as shinny as it used to be and i know new plastics will be cast a fortune. Im considering vinyl wrapping it, And my question is ow well do you guys think it will hold up
I am a new member here and new Grizz owner as well. I was adding Ricochet skid plates to my ride when I notice when bolting up the rear skid plate that the 2 back bottom frame rails did not have end caps on them and were just open where water and debris could enter …. Is this normal on these bikes … I had a Brute Force prior to this and they were sealed. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2005 phoenix 200 I am looking for a wiring diagram. I was having problems getting the machine to start. It was just clicking. I purchased a new battery and charged it overnight. Still nothing but clicking. I had my son look at it and he said it may be the starter or solenoid. When he tapped a screw driver on the starter it tried to turn over but still will not start. At this point I decided to order a new starter and relay. BUT here’s the thing, I have no clue where the solenoid/relay is on this quad in order to change it. Can someone send me a picture or explain where to look? Thanks
