MA Registration Stickers

I registered my ATV yesterday to make everything legal and so I can get up to NH and do some riding. Well, they give me two big stickers to place up on the front and both sides of the ATV! I was just about to start peeling off all the disclaimer stickers plastered all over the thing and now I have to add two more big stickers? The instructions tell me to place the stickers in a specific place, has anyone here placed them somewhere else? And if so, are they really pricks about this or as long as you have them on the ATV they are okay with that? I’m not really a big fan of stickers aand they want this right on the side up front covering nice paint!

New ATV Owner questions and suggestions!

Good Evening Guys and Gals,

I just purchased my first quad today. I’ve road a little here and there on other friends quads and finally decided to pick one up myself.

I picked up a 2004 Sportsman 700 (carb) and am looking for advice/suggestions on it. It has some higher miles (7xxx miles and 610 hours) but I felt 2800 was a fair price with the shape it was in. I’ll be 100% honest, my knowledge of four wheelers is minimal. I have some mechanical inclination with most things.

Quad has a fresh rear suspension that was done by the dealer that has done the maintenance since it was new supposedly.

So here’s my questions:

For starters, is there anything that I should absolutely do right off the bat. Seems mechanically sound, I have tore around on it already for an hour or so, boots on the cv’s look great.

I’m looking to do a complete fluid flush, I know theres a ton of different product out there but was wondering if there was something that a majority of people couldn’t go without running in their machine.

This is all a learning process for me and I’ll be on this site for the next 6 hours and 40 minutes until my shift is over searching and learning.

Any help is appreciated guys and I’m excited to be a part of this forum,

Thanks!

-Brian

New to the ATV world and forum!

Hey guys,

Just sold my Victory motorcycle and decided to move to the ATV world. I’ve always wanted a quad and after having a kid I decided maybe have a motorcycle wasn’t my thing anymore and moved to something that would be more fitting to me and more useful in this Michigan weather that we can experience.

I’m excited to be a part of the forum and look forward to learning from everyone on here.

Thanks!

2008 sportsman 700 codes 41, 45, 51 and 52

I recently purchased a used 2008 Polaris Sportsman 700 X2. I have noticed 2 problems.

One issue is that it idles rough. Research on this forum tells me that this is probably the code 41 and 45 issue and most likely the t-bap wiring. I have searched the internet and can’t find a video to see where to look for this issue on the ATV. Does anyone have pictures or a video that will show me where to look for the wiring issue?

The other issue is that occasionally the 20a main fuse will blow. When this happens it happens repetitively. I blew 3 fuses in about 5 minutes and then the issue when away. codes 51 and 52 appeared up after that incident. I am hoping that this is also a wiring issue.

I plan to clean all the connections tomorrow but it sounds like I will also need to replace some wiring. Any suggestions would be helpful. Pictures or videos of where to look would also be appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike

2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 glacier plow mount?

I have a quick question regarding the 570 Glacier snow plow mount. I put my plow together. Seems to be one thing after another. Was told the winch was plug and play. Ended up buying the retro fit wire kit for it. Now since the winch is working I decided to put my plow together and low and behold I have no mounting brackets on my skid plate for this thing to mount to. Is there a mounting bracket that needs to be bought separate to mount this plow?
Thanks

800 header pipe

I hear that "slip joint" under the front of the engine is louder than at the t pipe and its not the sound thats so bad as it is the fumes I’m getting while driving. Is there a simple fix like tighter springs?
