The Idea

Hey there guys and gals, just seeing what you all think. First off, I’m new to the forum, but I did look around and try to find something similar before writing this post. I have an idea that I’m really interested in trying to pursue. I am interested in obtaining the most information possible from fellow members based on the following: personal experience, related ideas, related connections/references, and anything else you believe you find helpful.

Before I explain my idea, here is what I’m working with. I have a 1999 400EX. This machine has seen a couple owners, but has been in my hands for a couple years now. Known modifications to note are a 440 big-bore kit, hot rods bottom end, and Ohlins front shocks. Any other modifications are minor or irrelevant. As it sits right now, 2nd gear is gone, so I know 100% for certain that I have to split the case no matter how far I go. It could also use new clutch plates and rear bearings.

We (my father and I) are interested in getting rid of it to create room for something different. I, on the other hand, was thinking of something creative to do with it, something fun, and something worth it. I want to completely rebuild this ’99 from the rubber to the levers, but I want to do it for someone else.
I live in Indiana, and every year, as I’m sure most of you already know, the final round of the GNCC championship is held in Crawfordsville at the Ironman. And every year, it is an event well known to sport and support breast cancer awareness. If you’ve been, you know, it’s a pink race. The attendance to this race is astounding, and it’s not shrinking in the least bit (especially with the Ironman National motocross race now being held in the same location in August).

The question is: is it possible to do a build like this, and raffle it off to raise funds for the say, the National Breast Cancer Foundation?

Please understand that I am doing more than just asking the members of the forum. I AM doing my own web-based research and I work at a large power sports dealership here in Indiana as well, so please know that I am not asking for help blindly. Also, please understand that I am serious about this idea, and please respond seriously! I will try to post a semi-detailed outline of the input, outcome, dates, times, etc., etc. as soon as I can, but don’t hold your breath.

Thanks all,
Nick :icon_ peace:

S conversion will be here tomorrow!

Bought a new 2014 last year. The stock shocks and springs stink. Feels like your riding in a Chinese made POS. Decided to buy some shocks. After shopping around and BSing with some dudes went with a conversion with new shocks. I should have just bought an S to begin with. By the time it’s converted I won’t have too much more in it than an S. Any pointers on the install? Have the front tore down already. Way easy so far

Who’s ready for a custom build????

The aggressive red and black graphics are what you first notice about this Polaris RZR XP4 1000, but wait until you get up close. This luxury prerunner has all the comforts you need for the long days on the trails.

We covered the exterior by starting with DG Offroad’s sleek radius roll cage which is equipped with the rear bumper and spare tire moutn, and a Outdoor Logic front bumper. For a little extra detail, we added the laser-cut Outdoor Logic rear suspension plate. Bolted on top of the sheet metal skin, the custom fit roof rack is perfect for additional storage opportunities. Then upfront, to keep a clear view on things, an aluminum framed automotive glass windshield was added.

Once you step in, you’ll see the suede continues into the interior. We provided some ride comfort and passenger safety with these PRP SEATS GT S.E. Suspension Front Seats and Rear Bench Seat. To keep the adults seated securely, we chose the PRP Seats 5.3 Harnesses with quick adjusters. For the little tykes, we custom fabricated the rear seat with a special center spot to ensure a snug fit every time.
