Snorkel feedback?

This forum is loaded with awesome information! Thank you all for sharing your ideas and helping us new people get going. I’ve lurked for a few months, and this will be my first post!

This RZR is so fun, I can only imagine what would have happened if this was around 20 years ago when I was a "kid" 🙂 Most likely I wouldn’t be here to type this.

Anyways, we were out riding the other day after a lot of rain and hit a hole that was a tad deeper than expected and I think I pulled some water into the clutch case and the belt started slipping. I smoked her up good. After getting back up onto dry land, I stopped and looked it over, I opened the drain plug and only a few drops of water came out. Which leads me to my question, I see plenty of snorkel kits around, and a few have been discussed on here. Do any of you with a kit installed have feedback on your currently installed kit? I think I have narrowed my search down to 2 kits. The EAS one that comes with a blower fan, or the 3" kit from mudindustries.

I do not like how much cutting I have to do for the EAS to fit. The mudindustries claims minimal trimming for installation. Huge benefit imo. Is the fan that big of a deal?

I really appreciate any comments, and feedback you guys can offer!

Is this a heat shield?

I took two pictures of this under the bed of my 2012 800S LE …

Is this considered a heat shield? My OEM parts list calls it …

PLATE-SHIELD,BOX | [Built 1/02/12 and Before]

I am thinking about an after market heat shield and I’m sure they are a "lot" better than this plate shield. Just wondering if this part offers any heat help.

New guy with questions 2010 Trail Blazer

Hello all, new member here.

Great site.

I just picked up a very low mile 2010 330 Trail Blazer for my daughter to ride with me, I have a 2012 RZR 800.

The Trail Blazer is in excellent condition.

Got the Trail Blazer home last night and rode it around for a short while with no issues.

Today my daughter was testing it out in our wooded property, driving very slowly stopping often to remove low branches and fixing trails.
The ATV did a lot of idling.

We noticed the red oil temp light came on but I didn’t hear the fan running.

We turned the ATV off and let it cool down.
It seem to cool down quickly and when we restarted it the light was out but came back on after about 15 minutes of slow riding.

Again I didn’t hear the fan running unless it’s real quiet.

Is this normal?
Should the fan kick on with the light until it cools enough for the light to go out?

The oil level is full.

I found what looks to be the thermistor? in the front of the oil cooler, the wiring plug is connected, looks new and undamaged.
The plug looks to have 3 wires?
Is there a fuse for the fan?

Where should I begin or is this normal operating?

Thanks in advance for any info or advice.

Renegade Mirror Question

I ordered the Can-Am mirrors for my 2011 Renegade and the left side screwed right into the existing mounting hole on the handlebars. I went to do the right side and the mounting hole is there- but the damn bolt on the mirror is too small and they want me to attach it with a mount! Why can’t I just get a mirror that will fit in the existing mount? Or can I?

If there was any room to just break down and use the mount I would but there isn’t. I don’t like the mirrors on my Renegade but I want to be able to keep track of the kids when we ride.

WTB – 12+ RZR 800 S w/EPS – Colorado

I’m looking to pick up a 2012+ RZR 800 S with EPS asap. Must have EPS and be 60" wide (sorry 50" guys… just doesn’t work for where I ride). I have cash in hand and will pretty much drive anywhere in Colorado to pick up. Must be well maintained, lower miles preferred. If you are looking at moving to the new 900, and want to unload your 800, let me know! 😎
