Hello guys/gals, I have an 05 Sportsman 800 EFI, it’s been giving me hell lately and I’ve corrected all but one code which is:
22 TPS Circuit: Open or Short to Ground
22 TPS Circuit: Short to Battery
Now I’ve found the wire that gets continuity to ground, traced the entire length with no signs of chaffing/cuts/etc. what am I looking at to fix this issue because I’m at my wits end with this bike.:banghead:
Any opinions, or experience is welcome, I need to get this sorted out as we are going camping at the local mud park in two weeks and I’ve got all our quads but mine running in top shape.
Any tire recommendations for all purpose, off road tires for a Traxter 500 on stock wheels? Most of our riding is trails…dirt & mud, and creek riding. If the weather cooperates, then we occasionally ride in snow.
Recently purchased a 2007 800. My key was left of for awhile, long enough to drain the battery and not start. It would try to start (very slow ctank until ultimately it died) So i got a new battery) so i replaced the bettery and now it won’t start. I have a good strong battery, the relays click, the Speedo lights up with no check engine light, you hear the fuel pump turn on. The starter solenoid clicks. If. Jump terminals to solenoid the starter spins Any thoughts?

Longtime reader but new poster on the forum. I’ve searched my topic but have not found an answer or direction for my problem.
A couple weeks ago, I bought a 2013 Rancher TM that would not shift. The engine runs fine and after checking it out I thought it was probably a linkage-type issue. My youngest son and I were looking for a winter project (and he wanted a new/used atv, so I bought it.
Since getting it home we pulled the engine and removed the front crankcase cover to expose the forward linkage. With the engine removed, we discovered that the rear end (final drive) was locked up.
Thinking I’d found the problem (yeah I know,AFTER pulling the engine), I thought we should be able to shift and free up the output shaft but I can’t get it free.
Does the engine need to be running to shift?? On my foremans, I can shift them into neutral with just the key on. Do I need to hook electrical back up to shift it?
I’m following the Honda service manual for this model but there are really no troubleshooting keys in there.
Other than the discolored outer hub on the centrifugal clutch everything inside the front cover looks intact.
I’m beginning to think I’m the only guy out there that has a TM shifting problem…….

Hello I have a 2015 Polaris sportsman 570 touring. I bought a hitch cargo carrier rated at 300 pound for car but only 50 for atv. I wanted to use it to transport deer out of the woods. Witch would be roughly 150 to 200 deer weight and 27 pounds for the carrier. Now is it that the 1 1/4 atv hitch won’t support the weight or is it rated low because of smaller machines would be front end light. My touring is pretty big and heavy so I guess my only concern would be snapping the hitch. What’s your opinion. Thanks for the input

Sure you have had this debate before but trying to pick the best ATV for my use. Been looking at the Can Am 650 or 800 ,2010 to 2014 as I want power steering. I am not looking for speed. It will be used in the bush towing wood logs or a wagon load with wood, and yes riding around too. I know the Can am 650 would have lots of power but as a work horse not sure been reading that the Can am is not the best unit for this type of work. Hearing about broken axles and the belt slipping and higher regular maintenance cost. Maybe should look at a different Atv name but heart set on the can am.
