completely dead 95 300ex

well long story short i bought myself a birthday present yesterday

the guy that had it was using a jump pack to start it which worked yesterday .. i did it once to start it and test drive it .

he had broken the clip on the positive wire for the battery ( i fixed it today )

to the best of my knowledge i have tried to check for power in each wire accordingly

the 15 amp fuse in the power cable by the battery is not blown . i checked twice.

i have power at the relay on the right and left side

black/white / green/white on ignition switch all register voltage

i cant check continuity my multimeter doesnt have the option .. but i checked every wire i could find didnt find any broken or frayed .

as i said above .. it worked yesterday .

when i turn the key and hold the clutch to hit the starter it does nothing .. zip .. notta .. ziltch .. not even a click .

im out of ideas … iso opinions and things to check .

i have the service manual for it .. so if you explain what i need to check i will gladly look it up and try it .. its nice out i wanna go for a ride 🙁

Just got a Rancher 420, need to fix a few things

Just picked up a 2010 Rancher 420 TRX420FM. Other than the usual trail rash, only issues I found are it needs a bumper cover, tires, and a CV axle.

I know the bumper cover can be had cheap from eBay, and I’m thinking about adding a moose front bumper to protect the front end a little better.

The tires have enough tread to get me through the next few hunting seasons, but they are 26" mud lites and I don’t like the way that they ride. I have a line on a set of OE takeoffs, or will get Carlisle AT489 in stockish size mounted on the aftermarket12x7 wheels.

The real question is the CV axle. I’ve seen them on eBay for ~$70. Are these any good? Will the hold up fine on a stock 420? We mostly use them in the woods for hunting, dad has a stock 09 Foreman 500 that he rarely even has to use 4wd on.

Starter Issue

have a 90 2 stroke , the starter had a loss connection where the hot wire connected inside the starter, tore it down, fixed the issue, put the starter back together now seems to be spinning opposite direction. Is it possible to reverse the polarity in one somehow?

Steering Stem Bearings and Ball joints

I have a Honda TRX350 from back in 03. It started steering really hard so I figured I need to replace the ball joints and the steering stem bearings.

I am really at whit’s end with parts not sliding in like I would like them to. The bearings only go half way in and then stop at the circle ring groove and the ball joints…not even a quarter inch.

OEM replacements on the Ball joints and aftermarket bearings.

I have watched the youtube videos and I just don’t get it. Ended up buggering up one of the ball joints and just quit right there.

Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.

Oil out of exhaust slip joint

New to this forum. Thanks for allowing me to join. Bought a ’86 350X that was smoking a little. Took apart and put in new valve seals. The bike was set up with a 250 carb. Started it, which was a total PITA. Bike ran with no problem other than hard to crank (compression) and the butterfly wanting to stay closed and no smoke. I have since gotten a 350 carb..don’t know why but much easier to crank. It started smoking out the exhaust with the 350 carb and started noticing some oil dripping out of the slip joint on the exhaust. I find it hard to believe it wouldn’t smoke with one and smoke with a different carb. I think its coinincidental. Not trying to chase ghosts. What would make it drip oil out of the slip joint on exhaust? Starts right up and idles. Thanks for any help I can get

First sceduled maintenance

hello, we have our first oil change/ tune up coming in the near future. i have always done my own maintenance on my toys and cars/trucks. but here is my question, on my atv 2014 rancher with eps in the manual it says to replace all o-rinds when changing the oil filter. is this true or is it hondas way to make more money? also as far as the valves go what tools do i need ? does it need a tool? on my suzuki katana (which i have done ever since it was new in 2005) it calls for a tool but you can do with out it. i admit it is easier with it. and do both machines use the same tool and where do i find them. thanks
