I am looking at buying a 2" lift for my 660. It is the spacer kit for the shocks. What are the pro’s and con’s of buying this type of lift? Bearings, cv’s, axle’s, etc? Not gonna ride it hard, just want a bigger stance.
I just bought a 2004 660 grizzly from this 82 year old man who used it on his farm. He bought it new and it has what looks like a very easy 1000 miles on it. I had a honda foreman which was shaft driven. I will be using it to plow snow, occasional trail, and dragging a baseball field and don’t want to end up stranded. Since I made the obvious upgrade to the grizzly my question is on average how long do these belts last? 1k, 2k, 5k miles? First post BTW.
I have some custom mounted LED fogs which I have another thread on (you can see them in the pictures). I like them so much i decided to add a lightbar but I didnt want it to be very noticeable. I selected the location of the lower grill and decided to do a non-welded installation so anyone at home with simple hand tools could copy.
Here’s the grill area in question, the lower plastic piece between the tow hooks.
Youll want to slide under the truck and remove the pushpins that hold it in.
Here it is on the ground
Here is what we are gonna replace it with, a 26" curved bar. Notice they are almost identical in size.
To install you will need some flat bar. I chose aluminum but steel would be ok also. You can buy this from Home depot for about $10 per piece. We will only need two small pieces.
For simplicity sake I chose a bolt that holds the tow hook to attach our bracket too. No reason to reinvent the wheel when the bolt is very close to the location of the lightbar. We will need to drill a mounting hole.
Based on location and angle the brackets need a 90 degree bend or so. Clamp it and just twist it with a pair of pliers.
Now they have final bends, cut to size, and a hole drill to mount the light to.
Here is an underside view:
Reattach the stock bolts, your brackets, and your new lightbar
I just wanted to say thank you to all the veterans out there for everything they have done and for everything they will do for our great country !!!!! I/we are forever in your debt for all the sacrifices you have made/given for us Americans !!!!!! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU !!!!!!!!!
Does anybody capture your GPS data when going on rides? i particularly like long rides, somtimes 3 days at a time in the forest with everything i need. here is a ride i did with the eastern sierra ATV jamboree last june. you will need to have the .KMZ or .GPX file from your device so it can be imported into google earth and upload it to google drive so you can just post the link on here to the file.
Hey I just got an 04 grizzly 450, first night I took it out I noticed that the air box was not sealed. flooded the bike even tho it is snorkeled. got it fixed and decided to do a carburetor rebuild kit. I think I made a mistake bike wont idle and if I accelerate it the bike bogs and shuts off, think it could be the air fuel mixture screw on the bottom of the carb motor side, but Im not sure. Can anybody help out was planning on going out tomorrow morning.???
Went on a hunting trip today and half way through the morning notice a rattling noise comming from what sounds like the front diff on my 450.only happens around 10 to 15 kmh.checked it all over including the bearings all seems good and axles.sounds like a pile of rocks in the diff bouncing around.change oil and never say any metal and it was clean.and body ever have this happen or know what it could be.?
