Sirius XM

If anyone has Sirius XM not under a lifetime contract, you may know that you can get 6 months of service for $30 (including tax and BS fees). This is the price they use to lure you back a few months after you cancel, and then they automatically charge you something like $180 for a year. Nah, I’ll take a half year for $30.

Anyhow, I just called to cancel and tell them I’ll keep the service if they keep my same rate. Oh yeah, you’re much better off asking where the person is located, and when they tell you they’re from the Philippines (not in), ask to speak with someone in the United States. They might give you a run around, but you’ll be connected.

So, I spoke with some connected to me by land who was more than happy to re-up me for $30, and I gave it a shot and said "why don’t you just give me a year for $60?" Now, mind you, I always ask this, and the normal response is sure you can have a year for $180. This time, they said yes, and I got a year for $60.90.

So, I don’t know if you’ll have my luck, but it’s certainly worth a try and I thought I’d pass it on. Hope it works for you.

LED headlights vs LED bar

I have the led replacement headlight bulbs from ebay and a $50 13.5" Cree 72w combo bar.

I don’t have the cubes mounted on it anymore.

LED headlight bulbs. They direct light everywhere which cause them to be less effective.

LED bar. For $50 this thing is awesome.

How much weight have you pulled with your 450

Hi all

Looking at a Kodiak 450 just wondering how much weight has anyone pulled with this machine. They look like they could hall a small boat and water craft out of the water.
It looks would be a great all around family machine.

I wanted to use if for doing work around the camp. But is a 550 is a better choice?

Thinking about selling

I hope this is the right section for this question. I have a 2014 non Eps 700. I don’t have the time to ride and would like to get my money out of this bike. It has 35 hours and 260 miles. How much do y’all think I can ask for? The specs are in my signature.

Price question and dealer scams?

I just got back from a local place called state 8 motorcycle here in Ohio. I went there as they had a few different brands and sat on a few just to make sure the grizzly is the one I wanted "It is!"

So the other week I seen a advertisement to another place in Ohio called Champion Power Sport and called and the guy said he can sell me a 2015 Grizzly 700/EPS for $7,683 + $93 fee and my tax, which should be a grand total OTD price of $8,318.32.

So I showed him the ad and my total and said if they could match that price I would rather buy it from you "state 8" as you are only a 30 min drive and the other place is over 2hrs one way.

So the guy jotted down some numbers and said ok,im going to go talk with the boss and see what we can do. So ten minutes later he comes back out and said he was told No Way,there is No way this place with give me a 2015 grizz 700/eps for that price and assured me that it is some scam either a bait and switch,or selling on the border of states and scam on taxes somehow and stick me with some hidden fees later and gave me some other scenario which I forget,in other words he said that other dealership is full of BS.

The best he can do is about $8,800 for a 700/eps plus fees plus tax which ran into the mid to high 9k’s. Or said they had a brand new 2012 700 SE that they can get close to the price I was quoted.

Now I talked to the guy at the dealership one time and asked him point blank is this the actual price, and he said it is. Now could it change when I get there, I guess anything is possible.

But im going to call again tomorrow and see what he says, one more time, then I’ll take the ride to do some paperwork.

I looked in the other forum where people have discussed price and seen them all over, but seen a few people payed pretty much what I was quoted,so it looks to be possible. I also seen people pay well into the $9k’s.

So when I call this guy ,Is anyone aware of any scams or anything that could bite me in the ass after I sign the papers?
This guy assured me that its going to be used, older model, lol, anything but a good deal. What do you guys think?

Easter Ride

Hey everyone I just wanted to post about my Easter ride. I came across some decent mud and some great trails this past weekend. rode for a couple hours and got stuck only once. lol
The best part is that this is all across the street from my house. Here are a couple of pics. The grizzly did great in my opinion. She never gave up on me and she was ridden really hard.

Anyone else ride this weekend?

Leatt Fusion 2.0 Jr Body Armor and Neck Brace

I posted this awhile back on another forum. Thought I would post here also since I’m a Yamaha convert now….
—————
We all want our kids that ride to be safe as possible. I am obsessive about safety when my 6 year old son rides. He has two speeds- Asleep and wide open. Obviously, I want him to have fun as ATVing is our family hobby, but I also want the best equipment I can get to keep him safe. I was concerned that if he came off his machine, he was at risk for a neck injury. We recently went on a trip with another couple that have a boy who rides MX competitively. They told me about Leatt who makes a neck brace for off road enthusiasts. They showed me the brace and I was impressed. It prevents the head from going too far back, forward and side to side. Their son could get in and out of it very easily and it didn’t restrict his natural head movement too much.

We returned home and my research on Leatt began. I did a search on this forum for Leatt and nothing came up. So I went to Leatt’s site and some others for reviews and information. Leatt is actually Dr. Leatt who is a trauma surgeon and a sport bike enthusiast / racer. Dr. Leatt watched a friend of his die in a crash where he broke his neck during a race. Dr. Leatt went to work on a neck brace and the Leatt line of neck braces was born.

In my research, I came across the Fusion 2.0 and was impressed. It is the Leatt neck brace combined with body armor in one device. Notice I said "body armor" and not chest protector or roost deflector. The material this armor is made from is designed to solidify upon any impact and spread the force applied to a kids torso over a wider area should he come off his machine and land on a rock or whatever. And it’s vented for comfort. The neck brace part of the fusion 2.0 looks very similar to what I saw on our trip. So we figured out what size we needed and I ordered it.

The Fusion 2.0 arrived a few days later. We tried it on my son with his helmet on and he has great natural head movement. The brace really only prevents unnatural movement of his head with his helmet on. Also, he can get in and out of it with little to no help from us. We have not had an opportunity to ride yet as the weather here has been fairly crappy. I will update when we do, but I believe we are going to be very happy with this purchase. How much, you ask? $249.00 US. Not what I would call an inexpensive item, but try to put a value on your kid’s neck and it’s not much money at all.

And by the way… Sizing for this item is not only by chest circumference. It is also by height, which is not mentioned many places. So check both before ordering to make sure your kid will be able to wear it for awhile. We nearly went too small before we found the height sizing chart and it fits perfect with plenty of room to grow.

We have done some riding since I originally wrote this post on the Honda forum. He likes the protector and the neck brace is not a hindrance to him. Here is a pic of him wearing it when it first arrived.

I’ll get a pic and maybe a video of him on his machine with his helmet on next time we are out and get it posted up. We’ll also be ordering one for our daughter when she gets a machine. Cheap insurance for our young riders!!

Mounting winch issues

My warn 2.5ci winch finally started acting up recently on my 07 grizzly 700. So instead of purchasing a new motor and new cable for it i decided to purchase a superwinch terra 35. Go to mount it up today and the bumper braces/mounts that go back to the frame interfere with the winch.

Do i need a different winch mounting plate?(no idea what brand or what model my winch mounting plate is) I was under the impression that this would fit the grizzly, hell it has the same dimensions as the superwinch terra 25. Thanks for any info!
