I am going to attempt to do a full 2014 1000 xp engine swap into my 900 xp. What I mean by full is all 2014 1000 xp equipment into my 900 xp, Wiring harness, ECU, air box / air filter, cvt box, and radiator.
I am doing this type of swap because I don’t have the 900 xp engine or many 900 xp engine parts to start with and most of the plastic is gone. I purchased the Indy red 2013 900 xp wrecked for Copart.com. The RZR was in some type of rear end accident. See attached picture.
I am going to document this process to save people hours of research like I had to do for this type of swap.
I am doing this because i don’t want to use a fuel controller and I like the air filter set up of the 2014 1000 xp.

Has anyone tried using the Polaris 800iq turbo motor swapped into a 800 rzr? I have a chance to aquire one very reasoonable. Polaris states this motor is 140 horse. I am new to this and was wondering what to h**l. I just thought I would throw out to the fellas and wait for feedback. I know the apex or zi is the premier choice but this should be able to be done without breaking the bank. So please tell me what you think. Spark
I am having a problem with my Z1 Overheating. Its in a 800 chassis we put CBR Radiators in them, Upgraded cooling fans that flow 200cfm more, ditched the stock z1 oil cooler and put a fan cooled oil cooler in the bed and it still gets hot when cruising the dunes or trails. Shooting the hill it is fine but if you slow down or stay at a constant speed it heats up bad enough that it turns the temp light on and wont go off until you stop and let it idle for a few minutes. I have read a lot of posts of people claiming that there swap runs between 160-180 and mine seems to always run closer to 190-210 and when crusing it gets even hotter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am at a loss with this thing and don’t know what to do. I love the swap and love the power this thing makes being Flashed but just want to be able to enjoy it. I know its possible just need to find out what everyone is doing to make it happen.
Thanks
Taylor

Well it was fun Having a stock xp1k, with boost and E85. a few months back, my best buddy and I decided that it just wasn’t enough and we wanted to Have just a bit more fun!
One thing is for sure, This forum is Full of awesome people. There is allot of Creativity flowing around, along with great ideas.
One thing though that my buddy and I noticed, is that the power plant choices being used right now, (Z1/apex) are definitely a force to watch out for. Heck, even a Built xp1k motor that is built for boost is an animal! We really wanted to make sure that what we put in, will compete, and surpass if called upon.
We Really like high revs and displacement.. so the disassembly began..
This Thread, We hope, is to get people even more in love with this Platform, and to really imprint the idea of forever evolving in idea, and mechanical art.
With that being said, questions and ideas are always a plus 🙂

–Has anyone done a supercharger Apex in a 1000 chassis?
I’m wondering if the throttle response would be way harder on belts and other parts. Superchargers come on hard which would be awesome in the dunes.
–Also, can we run the stock Yamaha primary clutch with the 1000 secondary?
–Has anyone put a Nytro engine in a 1000? Or a 900 for that matter?
I found a supercharged 245hp Nytro as a donor sled. Really would like to build one. Thanks in advance, Dan
