Xp 900-apex

Hi guys,
I read quite a few build posts about this swap and had about 5 million unanswered questions. So after much trail and error. I put together a really good set up and I wanted to post info in detail the best I can to help future builds for people to go smoother for them. I’m not selling a kit and don’t claim to be anything more than a person with a fair amount of comon sense.

First off. The mount set up. There’s several kits on the market that use the from isolated mount to mount the apex motor too. This should not be done. The apex motor has isolaters built into the motor so from of motor needs to be mounted from only those two isolated spots. Do not use lower hole tabs they will brake for sure! Next motor must go all the way towards passenger side of rzr. This being done will still leave the motor and trans slightly cocked in frame. I haven’t experienced and problems from this but I don’t like it. One fundamental problem that must be delt with is the trans is hard mounted to stock 900 motor and can’t be to apex motor. Below I have posted two pictures of front of motor the one picture is a plate I made to mount motor all the way towards passenger side as suggested .

GSXR 750 with CVT

I have a 2011 RZR 4 800 that I put a GSXR 750 motor in. I tried the chain and sprocket route and was not happy with the gearing so I had a part machined to run the apex primary. I also installed a STM secondary. I have the lightest Yamaha spring in my primary and 104 grams of weight per arm. My problem is I cannot get over 55 mph and all the apex swap guys say they can go 80-90 mph. I run it in sixth gear all the time through my stock Polaris trans. Anyone have any ideas?
