Tool Kits… What do you guys pack?

Forgive me for the newbie questions but I am a newbie to atv’s. I have performed a search or two but came up with nada.

Any way what tools do you guys/gals keep with you while out on the trail? I have just bought a 91 Trail Boss 350L so not a lot of storage room after factoring in the tow strap, spare plugs, sm bottle of 2stroke oil in case the pump goes out. etc.

I’m thinking a #2 phillips, T25, flathead, 1/2-7/16" wrench and sockets, 8 and 10 mm sockets, 1/4" wratchet/extension and spark plug wrench. Am I missing anything?

Thanks,
Rick

Switch hole on 570 Sportsman

Thinking about adding a 12 inch LED bar to my 570. Not really wanting to punch a hole for a switch in it if I can help it. I was looking at the instrument pod today and was wondering if anyone has tried finding a switch to go in the space where the rubber plug is?

question

I recently replaced all my brakes on my 2002 honda recon 250 and the left side ( the side you have to get into to do the brakes) the wheel keeps going side to side. I got tubes put in the rear tires and they resealed them on the rim and the wheel is still moving side to side. The axle nut is tight and so are the lug nuts.

what in the heck is this world coming to

2 weeks ago my son’s car was stolen, yes the keys where in it but it was on our property, we call the police, they don’t find it but we get a tip that is in a trailer park in another Town, so we call the police they go there yep its my sons car, Different license plates already, car cleaned, muffler fixed, in the guys Drive way, the Police find the keys to the car in his Bedroom, can’t arrest him, he said its not his car, so the car goes to the impound, the Police call and say Alex can pick up his Car at this Tow Place, towing and Impound fee 400$,
and new plates 22$, The law protects the guilty this really sucks.
then yesterday my oldest son has a construction company they are doing some work at the local Ballpark, they have a pallet of Motor Mix Delivered, 50 bags shrink wrapped on the pallet, yep next morning gone, pallet there shrink wrap there, but pick up tracks and 2 people tracks loading ,then call the cops and they say more then likely never will find them no evidence, really starting to lose my Faith in our Law system, so today I am working in the alley in our small town, and here comes a car 2 guys in it cursing slow thru the alley stopping and looking behind house’s and open garages, so I do recognize the one man, just got out of Jail I know that because his parents are friends of ours, in jail for theft, so I follow them to get License plate number and call into county cops, dispatcher tells me that could be harassment me following them, she did not take the License plate number from me. WOW

400ex with wrong dowels for cam

So I rebuilt this 02 400ex for my son to ride. At the same time I was rebuilding a friends yfz450.

I finished the 400ex a few weeks ago, test rode it at a local (illegal) spot for a few hours found an oil leak. Fixed it, did another few hours at the local spot, didnt notice any other issues. Last Saturday took it to the place I have a trail riding permit too, almost 2 hours away, and my son rode it through all the gears no issues for 6 hours.

Last night I was finishing up on the yfz450 and in the parts bag for that I found two dowels. I somehow though hmmm wonder if these were for the cam on the 400. I looked up a pic of the dowels for the 400ex cam and saw that I was correct and the ones I put in there are different. Same size in diameter they fit fine but they are more of the thin walled type and the correct ones are thicker.

I am supposed to take my son out tomorrow for another day of riding and am wondering if you all would just let it go with the wrong dowels for 5-6 more hours of riding.

I would just swap in tonight but need to order a new gasket unless I use yamabond. I would prefer to use a new gasket. Would you ride like this? Its been run close to 10 hours with the wrong dowels already.

By the way I did the 416 big bore kit and not sure there is much difference in power. The cylinder was out of spec and needed to be bored or re-sleeved or I would have left it alone.

I always think I go too long on these post and never get responses, so

TIA!
