Hey everyone,

I’m a short term lurker who decided to just register already. 🙂

I’ve recently acquired an 87 TRX350, which I believe is also called the 350D, or the Foreman. Mine is dated as 1/87, so that’s pre-Foreman badging I believe.

My dad has owned this thing for the last 10-ish years I think, but it’s been mostly sitting doing nothing in that time. He finally agreed to give it to me, and so now it’s mine!

The plastic is in really good shape, and other than having some fuel issues (hard starts), poor brakes, and some poor handling (I suspect an alignment is needed) it’s ready to rock! The original owner was a feedlot.. it had a lot of back and forth within the yard, checking fences and animals, but was almost never driven hard or fast.

I’m looking to get it 100% operational, upgrade the lights and tires, and add a plow for the winter. I’m not a speedy rider, but it will definitely be seeing some mud. 🙂

I grew up on Honda ATC’s, and this was only the second quad that my family has owned (the first being a 2000ish honda.. 300?), so there’s some sentimental value to it as well. We still have the ATC’s as well, but they dont get much use these days.

2003 sportsman 700

Ok guys I’m getting fed up with my machine. How do you get all the air out of the cooling system, I’ve jacked it up and let in run and dump more coolant in. Burnt up almost a full tank of gas doing this and there is still air in it…..how is that possible!

400ex Top end rebuild?

Hey all,
After much help with my timing issue my 2004 400EX is running awesome again. Except it is burning a little bit of oil when I rev the bike up. Compression was at 100lbs cold and after adding oil through the plug hole it went up so I suspect rings to be the issue here.

So, the new plan is to do a top end rebuild on it. My question is should I order a standard size and just rehone the cylinder? I have one of those ball hones that I can use to rehone it, assuming there isn’t any damage to the cylinder walls. Or will I need to order an oversized piston kit and get the cylinder bored?

Thanks

2016 grizzly sucking water into the fuel

So I bought a 16grizz a little over 2 weeks ago went thru the typical yamaha break in period as well as my buddy on his 16 wolverine r-spec and i noticed that my grizz was acting funny like it would die every now and then and hadn’t a lot of low end hesitation. didn’t think much of it cause hell I’m not going crazy on the thing and after break in i noticed it my bike wouldn’t stay running it would idle fine but randomly die and the roll overvalve on the fuel tank wasn’t doing its job and sucked in sand and water into my fuel tank/lines/and injector. I guess what Im getting at is who ever doesn’t want to go to the dealer for this re route the vent line up under the pod :cussing: I bleed blue but come on yamaha that was a bad design

GPS ideas

I am in the need of a GPS for trail riding and had a couple questions. All I am looking for is something I can download trails onto so that as I’m riding I can look down and see where I am on the trail and what way I would like to go. Doing a quick search on the forums I see many people say the Montana is the way to go but I guess I’m wondering if there is a cheaper Garmin that would do the things I need? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Beadbuster XB-450

This is the best tool I have ever purchased in my tool box. Its takes ATV tires off with just a 3/8 ratchet. That being said I have only used it on steel rims. Anybody ever us this on their Can-Am aluminum rims? Forums are about sharing so I thought I would share.

Starting problems

Hi. New to the forum, so I hope I’m doing this right.
I have a 2003 Honda foreman 500
Actually, I have 2 of them.
I’m Having issues with one. It starts right up using the pull start.
But, when I try the e start all I can hear is the solenoid click. I’ve used a booster pack as well as other batteries and jumper cables.
I’ve also taken the solenoid out of it and put it on my other Honda and it started right up, so I know it’s not the solenoid .
If the starter is shot would the solenoid just click like it is?
Should I remove the starter and put power directly to it and see if it spins?
Or is their something else I should look at first ?
Thanks in advance

Winch not working

I have a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570 and bought the Polaris winch with it. I’ve only used the winch 1 time over the past year. Now when I try to use the winch it only clicks….any ideas what could be bad or what I should check? I’m wondering if the winch is bad??
