Easiest Muffler for Guy with no clue
I have a 2015 xp 1000. Have about 1800 miles on it. It has always gotten hot but never melted anything.
Was in the Black Hills riding this past week and it got hot 1 day and we were moving slow on the trail (moving slow or sitting is when I really notice heat).
I need to fix this thing. Trade is not an option at this point.
Been reading all the threads. I can’t find it now but I remember seeing a post where a guy went to parts store and basically made his own. I can’t find that now can anyone help with that.
I don’t have a clue when it come to programmers so would like to stay away if I could.
So far I have always went to the mountains to ride and it has always been cool and we keep a pace of at least 15-20 Mph seems to be enough air movement to keep it cool.
So I need basic help on a muffler as quiet as possible with no controller or an easy to operate one. But it must eliminate the heat.
Please Help
Thanks
Mike

MrRPM 51mm bored throttle body.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.
Thanks for help you can offer!

Original bighorn question
. Closest I can get is 26x9x12 f and 26x12x12 rear. I don’t like the idea of 3" difference front to rear. I would prefer originals and not the 2.0. I could also go with 25x8x12 f and 25x10x12 r which would be an inch shorter than stocks. But I hear they run a little taller anyways. What do you guys think? Oh decisions decisions.
Mixing engine oils
Radiator relocator
98 Grizzly 600 overheating bad.
How do I know its over heating? if I ride it for extended periods of time (30 minutes-2hrs) then the belt enclosure gets so hot it starts to burn my leg, but its not just the belt. The whole engine has so much heat coming off of it, I can feel it getting really warm on my butt.
AND (this happened only once) I got it so hot that the top of the engine/transmission (right below the carb) that if I spit on it, my spit would sizzle and steam off in seconds.
I have no smoke coming out, so its not like I’m burning oil. I checked my oil cooler for "caked mud" and there is none, The fan does run when its supposed to. I changed my oil filter and changed/checked my oil.
Things I’ve done to it: I wrapped the exhaust pipes (but I don’t think that is the issue), I also did a snorkel kit on it (custom), and I ran 100% of the vents into one of the snorkels (So I made a 4th snorkel for the diff vents and tranny vents and carb vents etc.. it does NOT feed back into the engine in any way)
Any ideas why its overheating? Thanks!
