4wd and Headlights not working.

My bike would never shut off when the key was in the off position. Found a spot in the wiring harness where it has been rubbed through and cut a few wires. So I repaired it and made sure each wire matched. Well ever since I repaired it my 4wd and headlight are not working correctly. My light are very dim and only come on when the switch is in the headlight position and the 4×4 switch is in the 4wd position. If I flip it to 2wd the lights will shut off, and my 4wd actuator will not engage. I’ve also notice my accessory relay is getting pretty hot. Do y’all think I should just break down and get a new harness or could it be grounding out somewhere??? Please help!

97 trx 300 fw bent rear axle?

97 trx 300 fw,

the rear axle is bent? or at lest the swing arm is?

the right side sits higher then the left side. (attached photos)

I got this quad in a trade and now am trying to make it usable for the wife. when crusing at higher speeds it grab and turn you making it quite dangerous to ride. right now I am thinking the rear axle is jacked up and something is bent. anyone else ran into something like this if so how did you fix it?

looking at it more it almost looks like someone welded the axle bolt to plate back on.

options right now are die grind the holes bigger so I have some adjustment.

new axle assembly (too pricey)

try to bend other stuff back?

(I have the front plastics I just finished installing new front shocks.)

2006 Yamaha Kodiak 450

Hi Guys, first post here. And first bike of any kind in fact. So. Hello! Thought this might be to detailed for the intro forum, so hope its ok to be here? Anyways Im from Down Under, up the Hill Billy end up the country in Nth Qld, so basically everything is expensive for this bike. Having to buy everything OEM…. as there is not much aftermarket stuff available.

Basically I needed to get a quad bike to help with spraying and towing loads around the property. Anything second hand still seems to cost 7 gazillion dollars. The Mrs Uncle has a Banana farm up here and this bike came up for sale. It had snapped the CVT drive belt and had basically been shoved into the corner and forgotten about. It’s had a lot of use and zero respect given, but it was cheap and should do what I need it to do so I grabbed it.

Replaced the belt and got it moving under its own steam but need to go right over it to make it safe and reliable. The more I look the more I find stuff wrong with it, I’ve got to draw a line as to how far I go with it…. Otherwise it will end up being some sort of show bike that’s to good ride and then sits in the shed all day…….

I went and checked out what they are new….yikes.

Hit up Bunnings for a hire trailer and dragged it home.

I forgot about the rust. Does anyone have a standard front bar they would like to sell????? Had one lined up to buy from Victoria from wreckers but they sold it on me.

Strip down begins. Plenty of rusted in bolts snapping left right and centre. They are so weak…

Hit it with truck wash and the gerni. Has a lot of surface rust on the frame and dirt stains that won’t budge.

Giving the plastics some attention should bring them up ok.

All the brakes are stuffed. Rotors undersized and pads basically non existent…… Has actually been wearing the piston in their rear brake…. No wonder the back brakes didn’t work!!!

Also had to replace the steering stem bush as its totally flogged and it looks like its actually worn the stem down to as there is still play there….

The rear uni join closest to the rear diff is totally flogged out and needs replacing. Dosnt look like a fun job? Air hammer to remove? Any tips?

Currently having a great deal of difficulty getting the lower front A Arm Ball joint to split….

Any one know of a supplier the can sell the fuel tank decals for this model bike? Dosnt seemt to be a lot of aftermarket parts around for them?

Ill keep up dating as things progress.

98 grizzly 600 wont start, HELP!!

I need some help! We recently got a 98 grizzly 600 quad, and when we started it the first time i knew the timing was off. i fixed that and it started up good the first time, but when i shut it off gas started pouring out of the carb from the overflow. since then it hasnt started. it turns over and occasionally backfires. i checked the spark plug and it has good spark, then i rebuilt the carb. still doesnt start. what could it be? please help, this quad is starting to really frustrate me!!!

Aftermarket power steering units for 09 450 grizzly

I am contemplating putting a powers steering unit on my 09 450. My Girlfriend mainly rides it. I love this machine because it could go places my 09 550 would only get in trouble. It does bet you up more though. My 15 700 handles a lot like 450 & my girlfriend thinks power steering on 450 might help. I am debating power steering vs an upgrade to 550/700 with wider stance tire. I am sure the difference in suspension between the 2 will be next issue lol.
Of those of you who have opted to add power steering, did you go aftermarket or OEM? Who makes good units at a decent price, preferably USA manufacturing ??? I am almost ready to upgrade GF and put 10 yr old grandson on 450 that he has driven on and off with on board guidance and supervision for last 2yrs, but also understand power steering would help him too. A guy I ride with who runs a RZR claims he added power steering to his ride for under $500. Stock units for my 15′ 700 run $1200 thru partzilla. Is there a suitable aftermarket alternative that isn’t a cheap POS ???:gcrules::gcrules::happy:
