Bolt pattern is 4/156 and the offset is 4+3

Harsh Shifting

Just picked up a 2009 TRX420FA with 50 hours on it. Wanted to changed the oil since past owner didn’t keep good records. Picked up an OEM filter with O-ring and Honda GN4 oil. Before I changed oil I drove it in auto mode and it seemed to run well.

I changed the oil. Overfilled it a bit and drained some out. Cleaned up the air box and looked at the spark plug.

Now it seems to shift harsh on up shifts in auto mode. It even sounds like you chirping the tires on the pavement. No accelerating hard while noticing this. Not noticing this in manual mode.

I have the service manual and will look through it to troubleshoot.

Any thoughts on this, what to look at, or might it just need run more with the low hours? I have been checking the oil level and it right at the top mark. Seems odd that it didn’t act this way prior to the oil change. Unless I did something to something in the process of changing oil and going over a few things.

CATVOS 4″ and failed wheel bearings ~300mi

I’ve put 3-400 miles on this CATVOS 4" lift, I went to service it today and both rear wheel bearings are loose.

Thinking it’s just the nut backed off, I put the big impact on it, went nowhere. It’s failed bearings.

Called CATVOS and he said "they are just factory bearings and you are on your own".

Kills my weekend. 🙁

Anyway, are there any better and less $$$$$$$$ than the factory bearings out there ?

building a snowblower project

being as I don’t want to spend the 2500 and up prices for a factory unit I decided to build my own. I bought a nice used Kubota 46" blower and a 16hp motor for the setup. I ended up widening the blower to a 51" to make it have some clearance for the atv. ill be using a electric clutch so make turning the blower on and off super easy. for the lifting of the unit I bought a 12v car jack that will be attached to swivel casters so I can move the unit around when not blowing snow. I already had the glacier snow plow on my quad so I bought another plow mount so it will be able to attach to the quad within seconds. here is my progress so far and its coming along very well.
