I paid 5400.00 for mine. About to ride it tomorrow. Trying to figure out why they stopped making the ETX after the 2015 model. Was it that the 570 was only a bit more? Guess that’s why it was 4800 before taxes and the other dealer fees. I couldn’t pass it knowing its 4×4 and fuel injected. Payed a couple hundred more than my Honda Recon ES 250. If I could have gotten the ETX in 2014 at the same price, as today, I wouldn’t have bought the Recon.
So..picked up a set of xmr 30" silverbacks for a deal & put them on my 2016 outlander 650. A complete replacement clutch is out of the question until next year, where I’ll likely go with a cvtech.
Is there a factory spring and weights or other cheap mods I can do to the factory clutch to get a little better performance? I’d prefer not spend $300 on a clutch kit that I’ll end up changing out next year–that’s just wasted money to me.

G’day all.
Have a 2006 Outlander that has timing chain issues it has done 3110 hours, and needs to be repaired which I will get done at the dealer. Planning to keep this machine going as a second machine and spare, but would like to buy another bike as well. I can get a good deal on a new 450 dps or I have a family friend with a 2005 outlander max for sale in about 5 weeks which has been well looked after and has done less than 80 hours. My question is if I go for the older bike in 10 years time will I still be able to get parts easily? or is it better to go for the new bike so part availability is likely to be better?
Also I use the bike for weighing calves at birth with a calf birthweight cradle and electronic load bars which fairly heavy about 65kg i would estimate, attached to the rear rack. Add a 50kg calf and and you are up to about 115kg although generally not moving. I did have it mounted to the front rack last year but ended up ruining the front shocks, the oil leaked out of them. Would a 570 or 650 be better for handling the weight or no better? The 400 has had enough power for what we use it for.
So I’ve got about 7k to spend on a new to me (used) ATV and seriously want a 2012+ Sportsman 850 HO EPS XP (SP). In my area there are a few that are right around that price range.
2012 850 HO XP EPS, has #3500 winch, Hand warmers and 28" ITP MM
500 miles $7500
2014 850 HO XP EPS, bone stock, 372 miles $7000
2015 850 HO (SP) #(unknow) winch, front storage box, and rear rack extender. 19 Hours $7800
I’m of course leaning towards the 2015 850 SP (if they will budge some on the price) but just wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be loosing out on anything special. From my understanding the only reason the 2015’s changed to SP from XP was because of the 1000’s release and there are no real noticable changes between the models. Thanks for the input.
I recently picked up a 2013 Renegade 1000r. Had 23 hours and 419 miles on it. I don’t believe it ever had its first service. Although the 10 hour maintenance reminder had apparently been reset. Anyway I changed the oil and there was a small amount of magnetic sludge the drain plug, and the filter was black. Then I changed the gearbox oil and it came out gray, and there was a fair amount of magnetic material on the drain plug. Just the black sludge no large particles that I could tell. So my concern is, are the conditions I seen normal on the first service? And is it a bad thing if it hadn’t been done until 23 hours?
Was looking for a used Sportsman 850 or 1000 but came across a brand new 2016 Sportsman XP 1000 for $8699 seemed like a pretty good price so I pulled the trigger and bought it without looking around anymore. I ended walking away paying $9310 out the door with tax title and registration. Just wondering if I could have shopped around and saved more or if i did ok by pulling the trigger on the spot.

Hey everyone, had some cams installed on my 13′ 800 and a dobeck 4 fuel tuner with air/ratio gauge. I have been battling high idling issues since the cam install and not sure if it’s normal. After it gets good and warm which takes about 10 minutes the idle drops right down to 1300ish and is fine so not sure if anyone else has this issue. Also, the right side of the motor gets extremely hot next to my ankle. It has never overheated so again, this may be normal but I just don’t remember it being that hot before the cams. Finally, what’s a normal engagement rpm? I have a QSC primary I’m running and with the high idle it is a never ending battle as the engagement rpm is right around 1400 so the bike is always creeping and moving forward, ecspecially when it’s high idling while cold. Any help on any of these issues would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks in advance, Chris.
