Is the switch to allow my 550 to start in gear by using the rear brake the same switch that controls the brake light? I am referencing the small switch on the left handlebar. I am having hit or miss in gear starting and hit or miss rear brake light…more miss than hit! I have replaced this switch before, but was wondering if there is more to it than I am thinking!
was riding my 2002 TRX450FM yesterday and 3 times it wouldn’t take the throttle , it would bog , pop , spit , back fire and people behind me said it was blowing black smoke when it was happening , it would clear up and everything good for a while and then do it again , last about a minute then it was ok for 10 minutes —–so I put a clean container under the carb drain hose and drained off a few ounces of gas and it was clean , no water or dirt , took the garden hose and wet every inch of the bike with the motor running and couldn’t get it to do it again —– a little history of the bike , it has about 25 hours or so on a rebore , piston and new carb , any ideas
Hello guys. I got a problem with my bike. I went bird hunting 3 times this year and all 3 times it acted up. So i was driving at low speed around 10 km/h. After doing between 25 and 35 km on the trail the bike is really hot under the seat. The latch for the seat get so hot i cant even touch it. And when it gets hot i get trottle problems. I get no response from the trottle. Its good for maybe 10-15 seconds and then sometimes it picks up again and if not the bike shuts off. Sometime i have trouble starting it back up and then same thing. Trottle works for a couple seconds then quits. Sometimes while jerking it it picks up again brought it to my dealer here and they couldn’t find anything wrong. No limp mode on screen either. I read here it might be the fuel pump but without being 100 % on that i don’t want to change it cause they want 400$ for a new one.
Installing a Cabela’s Superwinch in my 2015 Sportsman 570, and using a KFI winch mount. Was wondering if I got something wrong.
The mount puts the winch upside down (bolts on the top of the mount) and when I just rotated the winch 180 degrees the rope unwinds off the drum the wrong way (according to the instructions-This winch MUST be mounted with the wire rope in the underwind direction. Improper mounting could damage your winch and void your warranty.).
I am having a difficult time orienting my brain around what an underwind is when the winch is now upside down. By my reckoning the cable now has to wind off to the rear of the unit. So to get it where I THINK it should be oriented, I decided to not only rotate the winch 180 degrees, but also swiveled it on it’s axis 180 degrees, so the motor now protrudes to the left (was protruding to the right, or passenger side).
Did I do that right?
Another question- does anyone bother with the circuit breaker included with a Superwinch kit? When I installed a Warn winch into my Nissan Pathfinder years ago the cables were directly attached to the battery- no circuit breakers at all.
PS- Anyone buying the KFI 100740 mount should note that the kit does not include the 5/16-18 bolts and lock washers to bolt the mount to your 570. Ask me how I found out. I went with 1-1/4" but 1" would have done the job.
I have expertise on certain things, but am brand new to ATV’s, so please indulge this basic question:
I live in Oklahoma, but bought a 2nd home in far NW Wisconsin, north of Spooner. It is a gorgeous place on a gorgeous lake, and I want to be able to get there 4 seasons..
up there there are a lot of ATV trails. I need something appropriate to plow snow from a 150′ sand/dirt driveway in the winter, that might also be fun for my grandson and me to tool around with on the trails.
is there one model that is fabulous for that double duty?
Hey gang, I’m a new member here. From Canada and just picked up an Outlander 1000 Max. I live in the snow belt so I’m looking for tracks! From what I’ve read most people recommend the Camoplast or Apache. Does anyone see a benefit of putting the Apache 360LT’s on? I can get them for a good deal and debating that or the T4S. Thanks again!

My 2015, 570 X2 has these rails in the bed. From what I understand, they are fairly common on atvs. I’m sure they were made for a purpose and by their design, I figured I might run across some accessories that attach to them. But, I haven’t seen anything.
Can anyone provide some insight to what their purpose other than just for looks or catching the tines on my wood chip fork?
Please ignore the dirty bed. The X2 was busy hauling garden weeds and wood chips.
