What’s up guys. I’m new to this forum and the can am world.
I have a 2013 Can Am commander 1000 and last weekend I was riding in hot temperatures and shortly after the ride began I noticed my temp gauge was maxed out. My ride was in limp mode also. Now I hadn’t been riding it hard but was playing a little. After I had stopped I noticed the fan would come on but would not stay on long even with my temp running full bars. I wired the fan straight to the battery to get fan to stay on and after an hour of sitting and adding water (or what little water it would take) it finally started to cool off. Rode it after that to get wind circulating through radiator and it got hot again after no piece of riding.
Now I thought maybe it just needs a new fan. It took WAY to long for my ride to cool off after it had gotten hot, and while I’m not familiar with the can ams much yet, I know that it wasn’t normal to take that long. Thought about getting a new fan and toggle switch to keep fan on entire time I’m riding. What do you guys think?

Wow, just spent some time on here re-reading EVERY post I ever made on here! Lots of good info I just remembered!!!!! Been quite some time since I’ve been on here!!! Major good info on this site. Thanks again!!!
Well it’s been a long time since I’ve been back here. I sold my modded Honda 300 for a Brute Force. I modded the hell outta that and it was crazy…. After selling that, and moving across the country, I’ve really wanted another 300…
So here she is & Operation Big Bore has officially commenced……
So today, I called Highlighter. Ordered the following…..
Just wanted to say hello to all. I’ve been visiting this site for a few months now and finally joined.
I’ve been amazed at the knowledge shared on this site. I recently bought a 2000 Sportsman 500 RSE. I’ve been going thru it and want to make it run like a top. Right now it won’t get up and go but it does run. I found 2 separate websites that had manuals that I downloaded and……printed. Over 1100 pages of information. As the manuals and opinions here pointed me, I pulled the valve cover off to look at the cam and sure enough the exhaust lobe is wore nearly down to just a circle, no lobe. I need a new cam.:albert:
I bought the ATV from my nephew because he is not mechanically inclined and didn’t want to mess with it. I knew it would need work.
Hope to soak up as much info as you all are willing to release.
God bless America from southern Indiana.
Most of my family calls me..

Hey guys, I’m from the suburbs of Chicago. My current Honda’s are a 2000 Foreman 400 and an 84 ATC 110. Past rides include an 02 400ex, 03 250ex and 07 400ex. I’m looking to add a trx 125 for my nephew in the next few weeks and hopefully a new Rubicon with in a year. I’m also hoping to restore the ATC at some point so I’ll have a thread on that.

Replacing my valves seals and am wondering how I could go about cleaning the exhaust valves. Good amount of carbon build up prior to rebuild. I seen online a guy use a drill and some red scotch bright pad on the stems also should I use carb cleaner or brake cleaner to try and break up some build up in the exhaust ports?

This weekend, my 2012 Grizzly 700 started doing he following: when I turn the key on, the 4×4 servo activates by itself and turns the 4×4 on and a off, sometimes a few times in a row. If I push the button myself, everything works fine.
I bought it new, only has 1450 km on it and stays in the garage year round. Anyone had a similar issue or knows a cure?
