I have 2006 sportsman 500 efi x2 and 2007 sportsma 500 efi deluxe.
The x2 has polaris handguards which I like and want the same for the 07 deluxe. I know they will fit, swapped and fit perfect, but polaris shows 2 different #s
2874871-177 which look like exact matches but only for 01-06 excluding x2
2875709-177 for 07-08 sportsman but picture of mounting bracket is not shown
I found #s stamped on the inside of the ones on the x2, some manufactured dates plus 5435476 on r/h side and 5435475 on l/h side
Also on the picture of 2874871-177 the angle bracket for r/h side looks like a mirrored image (for left side )
If anyone has handguards with the same stamped numbers and know what polaris number that would be great
Guy here local is selling a brand new bought in Feb this year Kodiak base model for $4900. 65 year old man and has been barely ridden. Didn’t think it was a bad deal. Any thoughts from you guys that already own one? I appreciate it.

I have seen the lock and ride backrest for the sportsman but it is unclear if it can be put in without the box. Can someone verify that you can have the backrest without the box? Also does anybody have a pic of this? Or a pic of a 1up Sportsman with a different backrest.
I have my CVT apart due to a leak in the seal for the secondary clutch shaft. When i went to reinstall the secondary i noticed the shaft can move in and out almost a 1/4 inch. Is this normal or am I looking at a more serious problem in my tranny?
I recently got a 1997 Polaris 6×6 that I’m going over, cleaning up and starting to use… Hi and Reverse work OK (new to these machines so I don’t know how it SHOULD do) but anyhow when I try to use LOW: shift lever moves, the linkage and shift ear on outside of trans both move but the gears inside don’t engage… Before you say the engagement collar is busted inside– I took the transmission apart and on the bench it shifts in and out of gear OK– but when I put it back into the ATV… Same thing: HI and Reverse work OK, but it takes a BUNCH of fiddling with it to get it to engage into LOW.
Guy I got it from said that in all the time he had it He doesn’t recall having ever even shifted into LOW for anything. But for what I plan on using it for I think that LOW might be a must-have. Any Thoughts???

I know this has been covered numerous times. I was wondering though if there was a way to possibly save the grips off the 2016 ? Are you just cutting them off or using air ? Thanks Don
