Rincon / Grizzly thoughts and observations

Hello, I figured i’d post this up for others to read and just to see what other people had to say on the subject. I’ll start by saying I have been riding quads and dirt bikes for a while. I currently own a 2002 CR250 and a 2007 Honda Rincon. Before the Rincon, I had a 400ex. I wanted a bigger, smoother machine so I sold the 400ex and got the Rincon (since my need for speed is fulfilled with the 2 stroke). I’m a Honda guy so the Rincon was the only logical choice.

When I first bought it, I felt like it was lacking in power for being a big bore. The low end just seemed weak. I put an HMF exhaust and and HMF optimizer on it, as well as a UNI Filter. I also got 25" Bighorns. Got it all tuned up and took it for a ride, it was a bit better, but still less than impressive. I must add that the handling / cornering on this machine is amazing. It seems very "flickable" and always very controllable in sketchy situations. So the only thing about it that I don’t like is its general lack of power.

Today I rode a 2007 Grizzly with a clutch kit, LRD exhuast, programmer, 2" lift and 27" GBC Executioners. The EPS was nice, but the machine was overall not as impressive as I thought it would be. It did have a bit more pep then my Rincon, but not much more. And it did top out at almost the same speed as the Rincon does. It did not corner as well as the Rincon, and it felt like the front end dove into turns. This may have been because of the big tires and lift, but i am not sure.

I guess i’m just wondering if I have been expecting too much out of the Rincon. I read numerous articles and such about the more modern big utilities, and it seemed unanimous that the Grizzly was better than the Rincon, but I did not think it was. I actually thought they were incredibly comparable, each had things better than the other. Anyone else have any experience with these machines, or other big bore utilities? I like my Rincon, but i would not be opposed to selling it and switching to something else if it was better.

570 sportsman is sputtering and back firing

Hello, I’m new here and I’m really impressed with this forum and all the info available.

I need some help. I have a 2014 sportsman 570 that I just bought last week. It has 600 miles and has been very well taken care of. It looks brand new basically. It rode great the first few days and then all the sudden it starting bogging down when trying to throttle up. Yesterday it was doing the same and even backfired a couple times. I also didn’t realize this until the other night when night riding for the first time but the dash light won’t come on and illuminate the speedometer. The needle is light but nothing else is illuminated.

I’m at a loss for what could be causing the bogging down and backfiring? Is it bad gas maybe? Is it spark plugs? I heard the 570’s foul plugs pretty good. I put sea foam in the tank tonight and will run it tomorrow to see if that helps but I have a suspicion that won’t help much? Hopefully I’m wrong on that.

Anyway can anyone help a newbie out? Thanks in advance.

Help ID this part.

I have 2000 Scrambler 500 4×4 that I just purchased. Can someone tell me what the circled part in the picture is? It’s right underneath the airbox. It appears to be some sort of crankcase vent. Right now it’s not connected to anything and I would like to figure out where it is supposed to attach.

Thanks in advance

2016 Outlander L 570 Front Bumper

Just got the new bumper for my machine today. Theres not many bumper options for the L. This one is a wild boar and i’m very happy with how it looks. It also seems to be built pretty well. My only complaint is with wild boar.. I ordered this on October 1st and didn’t get it until today. I called last monday and they said they didn’t have it in stock but just got them in that day. They never emailed me to tell me that which i think they should have. So i finally got it today and they didn’t put the mounting hardware in the box with it! So instead of waiting forever for the bolts i went to my local hardware store and got my own. Sorry for the crappy night picture, i just got it on.
