Deceleration

Hey guys, quick question. I Apologize if this is under the wrong category. I have never ridden a cvt bike before so this may be normal? When I am on the throttle very little well say less than 10mph, and let go, there is little to no coasting before I come to a stop. I was curious if that’s how grizzlies are or do I potentially have brake issues I should look into. In general it seems to decelerate pretty fast. Thanks in advance.

2015 Ranger 900 XP overheating

Wow this is new to me, so please bear with me. And will take suggestions on how to appropriately post and use this forum.

Have 2015 Ranger 900 XP that started overheating. Checked to make sure coolant level was OK (it was). Checked to make sure radiator fins weren’t plugged (they are not). Only thing I did out of the ordinary was run the machine in 4×4 and low to climb a ridge.

Did notice when Ranger engine off, but key still "on", fan motor would run but it was cycling (rev’d high then low). Also, with temp up over 220 degrees with engine running, I checked the fan and it was not on.

Read on other posts/forums to check fan circuit breaker (no idea where to find that on this model). Check temperature sensor (again drawing blank), Check to make sure fan motor works (no idea if the wires I found go to fan or not).

Any insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you…

2014 900 Clutch Issue

Hey Everyone,
New to the forum and first post! this weekend I was driving around the ranch in the ranger when all the sudden I stopped getting any response from the gas pedal. I coasted to a stop and couldn’t get it to engage in any gear (H, L, R, 4WD) so I trailered it and took it back to camp. I began trying to diagnose the problem, thinking it was a belt, I removed the cover from the transfer case and found the belt to be fine. I began messing with the clutch and noticed that I could spin the clutch by hand (when in gear, machine was turned off). I didn’t think you were suppose to be able to turn the clutch when it was in gear? I also noticed that there was a little play in the clutch, could pull it towards me about 1/2".
Anyways, I turned the clutch clockwise and noticed that as i turned it, it got tight. So I started the machine and noticed the clutch began spinning when I had it in gear. I stepped on the gas pedal and it jumped forward! So I hopped on and was able to take it for a spin. I drove it again yesterday and it had no issues.

I want to take it into the shop to see what caused the failure, especially while it’s still under the extended warranty, but I wanted to see if y’all had an idea of what the issue could be? I know somehow that warranty company will try to avoid paying for it, and likely will not want to pay for a new clutch.

Thanks!

Carb Adjustments when Changing Exhaust?

I’ve been having issues with my 660 after doing a frame swap and also going from HMF performance exhaust(which I think had not packing) to stock muffler. I adjust valves and it runs ok but it bogs taking off and just doesn’t have top end. I haven’t done anything to carb since going back to stock muffler. Could this be causing my crappy running? What do I need to do to carb if so?
