hey guys 03 SP 600 did the test and battery wasn’t charging so regulator shot still fires up but I did the ohm check on stator…. unhooked the voltage rect and did the test..Yellow to brown should be 7 but was all over the map.. and brown to ground should be 0 but was getting 1-5 numbers…got everything apart except flywheel waiting on a puller didn’t want to do it redneck style lol so I’m waiting..I’m thinking that seeing the number are all over (up/down) that stator is grounding out and fried the rectifier maybe a good cleaning and then retest before I pull the trigger on a new stator..was either going with Rick’s or RM not sure any help would be appreciated thanks
Hi – anyone have any insight on a problem, I am having with my 2015 1000 XMR. I took it out yesterday for a few minutes and the engine over heated. I had to wait till the engine to cool down before I could start it again. I barely made it home when the engine temp rose again. I just had the ATV fully serviced last month. I checked the obvious …fluid it has plenty. I was looking at the fan. I can spin it with my hand. I noticed its barely coming on. Its spinning very slow (it usually sounds like a jet engine)
I called the dealer, I have to wait 2 1/2 weeks before I can drop it off. I was hoping it was something simple I can fix. (Even though I do have the extended warranty)
I just notice on my 2005 Grizzly 660, there are two bolts missing on the belt cover… I’ve taken the cover off before but don’t remember missing bolt holes. Does anyone know what size these are, and how important are they? They are the two bolts that go through the centre of the cover.
After leaving my Outlander L 450 parked for a week (ran great prior), I went to start it up and it turned over once and then everything cut out… The quad seemed completely dead until I wiggled the battery connections… I cleaned the battery terminals even though they were not very dirty. The quad would start but kept stalling out and said "Low Battery Voltage" and then appeared dead again… I finally got it to stay running and drove a few minutes down the road and then it backfired, went to limp mode and CEL came on, but only for a few seconds… Now it seems to be running as normal but I’m worried it will act up again when I’m deep in the trails.
I don’t think it’s the battery. I’ve had the quad for about a year with 650km on it. Everthing is stock… no winch, no after market lights, nothing.
Hello, new here. So I have a 300 Honda 99′. It would start but die right after. I turned the fuel up and now it will set and idle, but if you hold the gas it misses. And if you try to ride it cuts out and dies. Can anyone please tell me where my problem is coming from?
Looking for suggestions on making sons DS90 performance more race ready. Seems like there’s been something every race, but yesterday with 1.5 laps left it started slowing way down, popping and spitting fire out of the exhaust. Thought timing may have gotten off. After cooled down,(10 minutes) it fired back up. Someone suggested an upgraded Rectifier. Hoping to get it set up to keep us in the game. TIA
I have a Honda rancher and started to hear a knocking/clicking coming from my front end. The noise would get louder when in 4×4 and under a load. At first I thought it was the differential side axle bearing. I took it apart because the boot was torn. After inspection the both axles looked fine on both ends. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!
Have a 2010 650 and ride 90% of the time on the min setting but when in slow technical stuff or just working in the yard the motor gets very hot and causes the check DPS light to come on this is the only issue I have with this machine. Have been reading about people putting a new fan controller on causing the fan to come on more often I’m considering going that root. I’ve also read about people removing the inner fender plastics allowing the dps unit to breath more does that really work? If so why are the new 650 g2 all closed up with plastics and have no issues? What should I do to fix this. Machine itself never has overheated just check dps light has come on. Turn bike off then on and it’s cleared for about 5 min light comes back
I have a project bike I have been working on. 1997 Polaris sportsman 500. just about got it ready to roll. Problem I am seeing atm is the Over heat light comes on when put in gear. the neutral/reverse light dont work at all. High beam does work correctly. When I got it this thing was a mess. many wires not connected to board and such. these lights were all still connected just not plugged into the harness. I am thinking they might be wired wrong now but han’t looked yet at them. I reconnected all loose wires according to what the pins said. black wire, yellow black ect. Dont seem like there is a way to get them wrong. Also the last owner has crossed the heat sensor coming out of radiator. I am guessing it went bad and this was their cheap fix. Should the fan be running all the time now or is there another sensor also? and does this radiator get filled with normal coolant or some kind of oil? I have learned alot from all the post. just searched and usually found my answer. This forum has helped alot Thanks.
I found the forum while I was doing research on a Sportsman Touring Model.
I have had a 05 Polaris ATP 500 for nearly eight years. I bought it very gently used in 07, it still has less than 1000 miles on it. The ATP has been used for hunting and plowing the driveway no recreational trail riding.
We just purchased a 16 Sportsman 1000 Touring and have a few adventures planed.
In August we will be riding in the upper peninsula of Michigan in an organized cancer benefit ride. In October we will be riding the Rockhouse and Devil Anse trails, Part of the Hatfield McCoy Trail System in Gilbert WV.
