I have been looking for a winch kit for my atv and can’t seem to find to many for it. What are you guys using on your newer Sportsman 570 sp’s for a winch setup?

Wanted to throw this post up in the forum to show you guys in case you hadn’t seen/heard of this yet. Broke my thumb throttle yesterday and went searching, same as last time, for a metal replacement. This time I found one at Cecco racing. I’m on vacation and wanted to get riding again fast so I will be picking mine up in the morning as he isn’t far from me. *been a bit since I’ve been on the forums just saw there was a thread announcing he had made these but figured maybe some haven’t seen it yet.

With the 2017’s hitting the showrooms, I called around and found a brand new, still in the crate 2015 Rubicon red / foot shift with EPS and got it for $2400 off MSRP…so the owners manual is pretty brief on the initial break in period and what to do…any advice on how to treat it the first so many hours or miles? Other than that, I think all I am going to do to it initially is put a winch on it so I am deciding on 2500 or 3500 and brand, etc.

Sportsman 500, 2500 miles.
I have a problem with my Sportsman 500. I change out the start because it would turn over once or twice and spin out. after doing this the starter still does the same thing but there are also other problems that have arisen.
When I backed it out of the garage I noticed right away that it cuts out under load. idles and runs fine, but if I give it significant amount of throttle it cuts out and misses until I let off.
I pulled the carb and cleaned it out thinking it might be fuel related. after doing this it ran fine, I took it about a mile down the road and it started doing it again, a little at first but worse as I rode.
Through out this process I have put on quite a few miles and am on my second tank of gas, I also put sea foam in it before the last test drive.
The starter still spins out, but sometimes it also just makes a humming noise instead of turning it over. I am guessing the Bendix might be bad?
any thoughts on why it would be cutting out that way? anything I could have done changing the starter that would make it cut out?
I appreciate your input on this matter as its making me nuts.. seems to get worse the more I work on it.

So got my 16 570 Friday and went trail riding with an old two tracking buddy Sunday. We headed out on some trails I have never been on and I let Him lead. Long story short a whole bunch of things happened at the wrong time. A. I looked over my left shoulder to see if anyone was behind me. B. He went around a bit of a blind curve and stopped with out signaling because he forgot the T intersection was there. C. He stopped dead center of the trail. D. I didn’t have my hand back on the brake yet. E. I ran into him… Now it was a bit of a glancing blow to the right front of mine and the right rear of his ( he was turned a bit too the right) it busted up what i call the front hood and blew out a headlight bulb I just noticed that the right a-arm is bent on the back side and the battery appears to be loose in its holder and is rubbing on the drive shaft. I feel really stupid because the salesman was trying to convince me to buy a mirror and I didn’t so I don’t want to take it to the dealer yet but I’m trying to find out what else I should check before deciding if I’m going to fix it Out of pocket or take it in and turn it in to insurance. Thankfully we are both ok and rode all day anyway because everything looked fine except the hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Just got a call from my dealer ,, Yamaha has issued a re-call on the spring on the camshaft , I believe its the one that causes the cold start problems some people have had.. 2016 models

Mentioned something about them breaking , so they are replacing with a higher quality spring.

My dealer will have parts tomorrow , and is fixing mine in the next couple days.
