Hello I am new to this forum.. But I got a 96 Polaris Sportsman 500 And my problem is that in high gear I can’t go above 25-30 mph But occasionally i will get a burst of power/speed and it will go 57 as normal. It seems like it’s not really revving up all the way. But in neutral it revs up all the way and same in low. I have cleaned the carb 2 times and replaced the fuel filter. Please Help!!

Tire pressure for rock crawling

oil leak help
I just purchased a 2013 commander 1000 xt with 800 miles on it from a good friend that i trust.
He changed the oil just before I purchased it. I have noticed that I have an oil leak under the machine. I removed the plastic skid plates in hopes of getting a better idea where it was leaking from. If you look under the machine at the steel belly pan the drip seems to be coming half way, if you will, between the drain plug and the oil filter area. However when i wipe my finger on the drain plug and filter housing cover they are both dry. As near as i can see (which is difficult) I don’t think the front or rear output yokes are leaking. Just wonder how long they can drip from oil that fell in the belly pan after the oil change. i have ridin it probably 150 miles since I bought it you would think that it should have drain off the oil that fell in the pan from changing the oil. This weekend I am going to take the driver and passenger engine covers of and see if i can see anything. My friend said he never had any leaks before he changed oil and I really believe him. Makes me wonder if he didnt tighten or put something back together correctly when he changed oil. Like I said the drain plug and oil filter cover seem to be dry. Man any help what I might look at would be great from you guys that know a heck of a lot more than I do. Hope I dont have to take it to the dealer.

2004 Polaris Predator 500
Hi guys my brother has a 04 predator 500 he bought off a friend. It ran great for the first 2 yrs. He flipped it and after that it didn’t want to start so we took it to the shop pulled the plug out it was the incorrect plug and had no gap and also was black. So we got a new plug put in it, it started up rough and hand a lot less power so he sent it home with me. I got it home I put and inline spark tester on it and it had spark once every ten cranks. So I checked wired found that the throttle contacts needed adjusted then i took the plug out and it was black again so cleaned it and also the carb. Put it all back together started up perfect but went to drive it and it was gutless it would not pop the front wheels off the ground so took it on the road it goes through all gears but starts cutting out at the end of every gear so go back to the house look at the air filter it’s filthy. So I take it out and order on mean while I tried riding it with no air filter same response. So I go ahead and put an ignition switch back in for him from another bike then I fix some bare wires. After that I figured I would take it for 1 more ride before I put it up so it started right up went to pip a wheelie and it stood straight up had power again. So I drove it probably another 100 feet then it dies like it ran out of fuel so I check the gas it’s full check if it was on and it was tried starting it again and finally get it then I go to drive it again and if I take off real slow I can move it a little was before it dies but if I try popping a wheelie it dies immediately. Get it back to the shop put it up. Next day put the air filter in smells like gas in he air box so I pull the plug it’s black so I out a new one it it and start it up still runs the same then I park it pull the air box tube of and a little fuel drips out of carb. Anyone have any ideas I think it’s getting way to much fuel.

Hey everybody completely new to these bikes so I don’t really know anything about them but I got it with the following mods supposedly done to it: Hot rods crank, high comp piston, fmf pipe, stage 2 cam. Kibble white valves, Jetted to a 126 main. I have 2 problems with it so far that I am looking for help with the first being it seems like it gets way too hot when I’m riding and I don’t believe the fan is on I noticed something that appears to be a temperature sending unit on the top of the engine behind the fan that looks like the wires running to it have came off at some point maybe that’s the problem I’m not sure but if you could tell me what it is called that would be great. The second being the starter sounds like it is just spinning but I can attempt to roll start it and then the starter will engage and start the engine is there a fix for this? Any info is greatly appreciated thank you

Hello. Can not adjust eccentric.
Bolt is loose. Housing/eccentric lubed.
Have tapped eccentric with a 3/4 brass drift and a 6 lb. hammer.
