Hello one and all. I noticed something strange my machine is doing, only in a slow(ish) wheelie. It seems like it is running out of fuel at an @11:00 angle? I can clutch it up into a wheelie no problem, but after about 10 feet, any throttle input just sounds like "buh-buh-buh-buh", and has none of the smooth acceleration/power I get when level . It’s weird that it only does it at those angles??? Runs good on level surface.
Currently running a 42 pilot, 165 main, Outerwear lid cover, K&N filter, stock exhaust. Pilot screw doesn’t seem to make much difference with regards to position, right now it’s at 1 5/8 turns out.
Went for a 75 mile ride today and when I got home after cleaning it up afterwards I noticed 2 nails in one of my tires. What’s the best way to fix this, Plugs, Patches or put a tube in it?
is there a difference in dealer oem parts than an online oem part? the carb rebuild kit i got from the dealer was over 1/3 cheaper that partzilla, because it had more in it.(except for that stupid rubber plug). the dealer sells the tie rod ends as a kit that is complete with everything from end to end only. And i was told that dealer parts(by the dealer) are better because of quality and last longer. Japan might even use china parts for all i know for sure. Made in USA doesnt carry much weight…..
Today I turned around on the bridge (concrete) and when I started to run through the gears 1st and 2nd had a rattling sound come from around the engin area I couldn’t fine anything loose or leaking. Then after checking the drive shafts. After I started it up again the rattling was present while ideling?
Any ideas?

I have a very noticeable grinding noise that comes from my front right side. Seemed most likely to be a CV joint as I couldn’t think of what else it could be. The thing is that I couldn’t necessarily change it by turning, driving different speeds, or anything else. In fact the noise comes and goes to a degree.
I jack it up and turn the wheel – the grinding noise isn’t real loud but still present. So, I take it apart and it certainly feels like the inner joint is binding a little but there is no physical damage I can see. The boot isn’t damaged and the grease was packed well. Does that mean it may not be the joint? What else would make this noise?
Oh, somehow I lost a ball bearing putting it back together, too. Does anyone know what size and/or where to get one?
Wife ride it and the steering is very unforgiving on rocks and downhill
does anyone know of a cheap not too expansive solution to make this steering more soft and forgiving.
maybe this should be at top of technical discussions. a lot of people dont seem to see it. i didn’t pay attention to it for months. as soon as i seen Repair and Maintenance, i jumped in without looking any further. i had previously downloaded service manual, and have cleymers, but i was so interested in my problem, i only didn’t focus on any other subjects, and there are quite a few. it is one of the most important subjects for the uninformed.
