So today I replaced the infamous slide plate seal. Upon disassembly I discovered some doofus before me decided to use RTV to seal it. The bike idles wayyy better now and I can get it to idle lower than I could before, but when i stab it, it will not return to idle for at least 30 seconds. It did this before, prompting me to replace the seal. I installed it correctly, with the seal facing the right way and the hole in the correct position.

Either a 40 or 42 pilot do not remember exactly.
Before the idle would need to be lowered as the bike got hot. I havent had an opportunity to get it hot as it was raining and I am low on fuel.
I am thinking it is an air leak, but I can’t seem to find it.
Any ideas???

So yesterday I walked into the dealer for trans oil and walked out with some new Protaper CR high bend fattys. (Totally forgot about the oil)
So today, as a test run, I siliconed my old renthal fatbars and stuck some carriage bolts in the end. Worked pretty slick and should dampen the vibes put out by the big ol stroker.
So tomorrow I plan on running to menards and grabbing some that are a bit longer and fatter for the new bars.
Anybody ever do this? I figured what the hell, I’ll try it while the bars are off, it only cost me 5 bucks.
Wont get to test them yet unfortunately, the studs on both bar clamps snapped on me. And I have no fuel. And my new slide plate seal isn’t here yet. I have alot of work to do before the jamboree june 10th.
