XC vs Trail

Hello everyone,

I’m new to the forums and before joining I did a little digging here but can’t seem to find an answer.

I’m in the market for a new RZR, however I am having a bit of a tough time deciding between two models, that being the 2015 900XC and 900 trail EPS

On the polaris site it states that the xc had 12.5 inches of ground clearance vs the trail at 11. If the suspension outside of the fox shocks is the same, where does the extra height come from?

Also, i need some opinions from owners of the two machines as to which way i should go.

Where I ride is alot of narrow trails but not really mandated 50", there is also likely going to be some mud riding. I want to be able to BE 50" if i need to, but also not a big deal if I’m over most of the time. SO, should i get the xc and run more positive offset for 50", or get a trail and run stock for 50" and do more negative offset for more stability? Are the extras on the XC worth the money? Any forseeable difference for future mods for mud riding between the two?

Any opinions are welcome.

Thanks guys!
