First off I’d like to say I’m new here and also new to the Rincon. I’ve always been a Polaris owner. With that said this is my first Rincon and so far it’s looking like my last. It starts and idles fine. Can ride it and goes good as long as you don’t give more then 1/4 throttle. Anything over 1/4 it Boggs and starts popping thru air filter box. Any help greatly appreciated

Compression testing

I’m looking for some advice on doing a compression test on a Honda foreman 400 1999 model, I have the compression tester gauge and I have the compression range, the Honda dealer i spoke with told me the compression should be 178-206 psi with the decompression not affected and 75-121 with the decompression affected both at 450 rpm, can any one shed any light on what exactly this means?

08TRX450R keeps dying out.. Help/advice wanted

Hey guys,
I was out on my 08trx last weekend and I let it run out of fuel (stupid I know). Ever since then I couldn’t get it started. I ran my battery flat and tried to jump it with no luck.
When I got it home I took off the bottom plate in my carb and blew out the jets. As I want to start it again it kicked and idled for about 5 sec then died again. It kept doing this.
So this week I left my carb into Honda for a clean, got a new spark plug and changed all the oil hoping this would fix my problem. It didn’t. It just seems to be doing the same as it was doing before. Any ideas to what’s going on with it?
Thanks

How often is your fan on?

Over the 4th of July weekend I took a trip to Island Park, ID. Beautiful area, miles and miles of riding. In fact one day, we rode over to West Yellowstone from Island Park. It was a great ride, I suggest adding that trip to your bucket list.

At any rate, on to the reason for the post. Last summer, I was out at Little Sahara, riding in 100+ heat. After climbing Sand Mtn, I saw that the overheat light turned on, it quickly turned off after I headed back down. I came home, did some research of how to help the engine run cooler and swapped the coolant over to engine Ice. I didn’t really pay attention before, but it seems like my fan is always on (Not on when engine is cold, sitting overnight or for several hours). Even cruising around in 60-70 degree weather, and not hard on the throttle, casual riding at a decent pace (25-40) mph the fan is usually on.

Normal? Abnormal?

Thanks,
