I have an electrical issue on my 87 350 TRX. The battery doesn’t recharge after use and it will die after a full day of riding. The battery tests at 12.5V and drops to 10.5-11V after starting and at idle. It doesn’t increase when revved. The person who sold it to me ran it without a battery in it, but he did use a portable jumper to start it and left it connected while running.
I just ordered a new rectifier/regulator, but could it be the stator? This will be the 3rd regulator/recifier I’ve replaced and it hasn’t fixed the problem, but the others were used and I can’t be sure if they were good. I have no idea how to test either, so info on that would be great.
I’ve read how to test and change a fuel pump on here and you guys helped me isolate a fuel issue to the fuel pump cutoff switch. I appreciate any advise you guys offer!
Changing bearings in the final drive on my 300trx 2wd and noticed a hairline crack when I went to put the new needle bearing in for the pinion. Crack is right down the middle beween the hole where the c clip is to where the pinion goes into the bearing. Question is, will the hairline crack be a major issue or just keep going? A new housing is 150 and I have a lot more to buy to get it going so anywhere I can save a dollar is great
I have to rebuild the top end due to a leak in my snorkel. Can I just buy a top end for a foreman and put back in it? Do I need to do any programming or anything?
Here’s my issue. My 2008 500 EFI sportsman is in great condition. Only 1500 miles. Was running it off and on the other day and it was running fine. Out of the blue, when I turn the key, solenoid clicks and my speedometer screen lights up fine…Turn it to start and there is nothing. I’ve got power. Acts like it’s not in neutral or I don’t have the brake lever pulled. Could this be a simple fuse issue.
I have a 2013 xmr 1000. It feels like when i am on forest service roads cruising that my rpm`s are to high. I would like to know what kind of rpm you all are running at at 30mph and 50mph. Thank you!
Was looking around the forum for a step by step how to install a winch.. Couldn’t find much. So I winged it and installed a Badlands 3500# winch today..Pretty easy install. It works and nothing started smoking yet..Lol.. But was wondering how an installation section would be on this forum.. I am really not great at taking videos narrating . But I’m sure there is a lot of guys on this forum that cold do it.
Any way here are my pics.. 05 Polaris Sportsman 800.. Should i cut the panel for winch access or just leave it off.. I installed the cord remote access in rear trunk in case S$%t got real deep.. Attachment 54921
went on a trip and now it starts right up cold but as soon as it gets warm it wants to act like its flooded out and when it cranks you have to keep patting the gas till it clears out and then runs great till you shut it off again or wait till its cold, any help would be appreciated
Looking for a larger rack bag for my 570. Not interested in the Polaris plastic lock and ride boxes. Are there any rack bags that use the lock and ride attachments? Please let me know if you have one and how you like it. Thanks
A while back I put in 1.7mm of shim and a purple spring.
Everything seemed fine.
A few times I can remember idling in gear turning the key off, and feeling the Grizzly "relax" when I turned it off, as if it had been straining to get going.
Yesterday I was hearing some growling from the CVT cover so I took it apart, and found a bunch of belt mcnuggets, with the remainder of the belt cracked in many places ready to come apart. The sides of the belt and very shiny.
I haven’t been doing a lot of drag racing or long hill climbs, but I did tow a trailer full of gravel a lot doing trail maintenance with the Department of Natural Resources. But I did use low range for that.
I want to reduce my shim amount in case that contributed to the cause. The fact that the machine was trying to go while idling in gear tells me maybe the shims are causing me to engage the belt too early.
But I don’t want to go back to stock, I don’t want to mess with changing the purple spring back out.
What would be a good shim amount? 1mm? 1.2mm?
What would happen if I removed all shims and left the purple spring in?
