2016 Kodiak clutch weights dimensions

Does anyone know the dimensions for the OEM 2016 Kodiak clutch weights? Other than being heavier than the grizzly’s ( 30g vs 18g ) I think the diameter and width should be the same..?

Also how is this translating if one is looking to get sliders instead of rollers?
I know a lot of members did CVT mods, I just couldn’t find this info after I read through about a dozen threads about clutching

Thanks!

Electronic Shift not working

I have a 2011 Honda 420 TRXFPA. It is electornic shift automatic transmission with power steering. I bought it used. I love it and miss it terribly. We were riding in the deer camp one evening. It blew a fuse. In the dark we replaced it with the wrong amp fuse (a 10 for a 30). A couple of days later, I was pulling around the yard and it died. We figured out the fuse problem and put the correct fuse in. The display lit up but it would not start. It seems it was stuck in gear. The display showed a – where the gear indicator would have been. I googled the problem. We tried rocking it. We put a new battery on it. We could manually shift the gear but it would not shift on its own. We took it to the local shop. He said right away it was the angle sensor. He replaced that and cannot get the "brain" to reset. So it is still not shifting. 🙁 Does anyone have any suggestions? The mechanic does not want to keep replacing parts and I cannot afford that anyway.

dead in water grizz 843cc

Had issues last month with grizz not starting. Fighting compression so it seems
Wouldn’t boost with truck etc. Changed battery, new starter. Same thing. Cables getting hot between batt and solenoid. Jumped out starter solenoid. No change.
Cleaned all cables, grounds etc.
performed voltage drop check across all wires . ok
checked decompression mech. Moves and can see pin moving in and out on cam but cant see how much pin is protruding
Stumped.
Tonight checking valve adjustment, then if ok going to have to pull cam and rockers to see what’s going on.

With spark plug out engine rotates freely and moves easily with ratchet.
Timing marks are bang on and Loudtronics had me check tensioner as well. its all good

Did compression test last night, first rotation went to 120 psi and 2nd went to just under 150psi.

manual says 55-65 psi which leads me to believe issue with decompression mech.

When I get it started occasionally. it runs good. Run it up down street no issues.

Issue started after 40km run shut off bike, an hr later wouldn’t start. Kept trying and ended up burning off neg batt post. Had to have been loose I am assuming.
internet says lots of people have had issues with decompression before.

If you had issues what did you find ? Worn pin, broken spring etc.
Im baffled with this one !

Cheers

fuel tank and MPG

Went on an all-day ride of about 144 miles, temperatures were hot and humid around High eighties. I did not have any Plastics melting but it was hot and did notice some glowing of the exhaust.
I think it is finally broken in at about 350 miles/21 hrs.

My last tank of gas I got 85 miles on approx. 4 gallons (21.25 MPG) the light was blinking but when I filled it only took 4 and it holds like 5.25 gallons.

We rode for 5.5 hours (from noon to about 9pm) so we averaged 26 mph!!! I think that’s my highest average and the most miles I ever put on a quad in a day.

Any comments, experiences or thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Jim

98 recon won’t start

So late last year I finished work on my 98 recon 250. It was running fine and sat all winter and most of summer with a full tank in my buddy’s pole barn. I picked it up to bring it to my new house and now it won’t start. Battery was dead, I charged it. I can’t get it started now. Any ideas were to start? I tried pull start and that didn’t work as well

Frame straightening

Has anyone tried straightening a bent frame without cutting out the bent section and welding in a new one? I understand that the metal at the bend will be weakened and I plan on adding a cross member and some additional support if I can get it close to straight. Just hoping to not have to completely disassemble the quad if I can avoid it…
