Hey I’m kinda new at this forum but I’ve got a 2010 850 xp touring and was riding yesterday and after 10-15 minutes of riding it started making a pretty loud whining noise coming from under the handlebars, it gets louder when you rev the engine, does it in gear and park and neutral, was trying to see where it was coming from and then it quit, just started doing this, can’t tell it’s affecting the running of it but it’s pretty loud, anybody had any problems or know what to look for, thought it might be water pump but not sure
Gord and I ride along with our friends at the Dufferin-Grey ATV Club in support of Ovarian cancer research. It was a rainy day on the trails outside Markdale Ontario but we still had a great ride!
I’m trying to change the pinion bearing on my 2006 outlander 800. Does anyone know the size of the spanner nut or where to buy the tool to remove it?. also do I need a special tool to remove the bearing too?

Its a 15 xmr 800 r outlander i removed the battery and cleaned the terminals and wire ends im giving the battery a quick hr charge on the table. What else would cause this ?

hey yall. I’m looking at trading for an 07 grizzly 700. it’s not charging tho. a quick Google search showed the same problem everywhere I looked. stator burns up from lack of oil. the correct fix is a good quality stator and an 09 700 stator cover. my question is, has anyone done a homemade fix? I’m talking about tapping the cover and adding an oil line.
When I drained the oil from the oil pan on my 400ex, there were metal shavings in the oil. I pulled off the right side crank case cover to get to the oil screen by the pump, and that had shaving in it as well. I got a magnet, and some of the shards stuck, but some didn’t. I’ve already got the top end torn down for a rebuild, and there doesn’t appear to be any damage to the piston or cylinder wall.
I know it was bored out to 416 by the guy I bought it from, but I don’t know how many oil changes have been done after that was done (this is the first time I’ve changed it). Could the metal I’m seeing be left from the break-in of the rebuild, or should I be looking somewhere else?
