Hi, I’m new to the forums. I have a 1989 TRX300 2wd in great condition. It was given to me. When we got it home I had to kick start it, no white smoke. The electric start wouldn’t work though. I went to try the elec start the next day and it wouldn’t work. I turned the handlebar to the left hit the elec start, and it cranked right up. So now, every time I start it, I have to turn my handle bar to the left. Same problem with the lights. They will turn on if the handle bar is turned to the left, but if I turn the handle bar to the right, they immediately turn off. Any ideas on what’s wrong and how to fix it??
Just an FYI….
I called John at Guru ( Nice Guy) and he told me he has just made a change to the guard.
He added a curve to the bar above the headlight and sent me a couple of pictures.
I ordered one with the expanded metal in all holes but the bottom winch area. 🙂
Hey everyone. Just trying to get a ride party together for this coming Saturday. Not sure on location, but one of the 2 locations in the title are good picks. I’m pretty sure Skeg will be in for the ride would just like to find more people for more mayhem!! Anyways let us know if your interest and what location would work best for you. Cheers!
Help needed. Was out today when the front wheel drive failed. When off the ground, the coupler by the engine is turning but not the drive shaft… Bad coupler? bad drive shaft? or bad….?? It’s a 2002 350 rancher. Any info would be great!!!!
Was in Utah for a few days and it started not wanting to start after sitting for 5-30 min after a few min of just turning over it would start and run fine. I did this multiple time. Got home cleaned it up replaced the fuel (just in case) replaced the plug. and it seemed to be OK. Just starting and stopping in the garage. Went to the mountains this weekend and it ran fine for about 20 miles then just died on its own was able to start it again after about 5 min of trying and it ran for a few miles then died again took a few mins but got it to start again and made it back to the truck. In Utah it only didn’t want to start here twice it died while I was moving.
Any thoughts?
Also the 3 holes in the air filter box two are just drains where does the 3rd one go? every so often I get oil in the air box (not filter oil use red NoToil) and it looks cleaner then the engine oil do the diff’s have a vent tube that goes to the airbox?
Recently bought an old 98 grizzly 600. Serious electrical issues but after pulling half my hair out I seem to have corrected them all. BTW I’m not a bad car mechanic but this is my first atv and they really are a science of their own. Pulled it out of the garage proud as a peacock only to be met with this curious new problem. Symptoms are; When I pulled away it felt like a brake was stuck and holding me back. I decided to proceed and see if it would go away but instead it got much worse to a point of like i was tied to a tree and the bike died. I waited about 2 minutes fired it up and i was able to advance only very slowly at high RPMs but got back to my garage. it also resembled a slipping clutch ( a bit) BTW the brake isn’t stuck as I can push it easily. I’ve been doing my research on the clutch and drive system but I can’t see how it could produce these symptoms. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and solutions would raise you to god status. Also as a result I gathered some decent wiring diagrams so if that can be of any hep to anyone just let me know.
Cheers
Hello everybody,
New Can-am owner here me and the little woman just got a pair of 570 Outlander L’s.
So far I love it I have owned a lot of sport quads 250 R’s my last was a 400ex Honda.
I was a Honda man for about 30 years. Now turning 40 in a month. Thought I would never own a 4×4 let alone one with racks, but I have to say the power and the ride is awesome, never thought I’d ever say that but I am very impressed to say the least. I haven’t tried yet but I’m pretty sure the Outlander will run with my hopped up 400, for a while. I think I’m a Can-am man from now on, but I did keep the 400 for ice racing.
Can anyone help me to price a Polaris Magnum 325 Mossy Oak? I am not sure of the year? The thing is that it wasnt my atv, but rather left here from previous owner. I know that I did see the owner ride it, but it was years ago. It was stored under the deck of a house so had some exposure to weather and animals. It has a snowplow attached (not sure if that is standard for this) It has some rusting.
I want to price fairly.
I am not sure if it is something that just needs a little tlc to get going again or if its just good for parts?
Like I said, i did see it used and it started right up but that was 7 years ago. Not used since.
Can anyone please offer me any advice on how to move forward.
We have a 1992 big boss 6×6. Recoil starter string broke and trying to fix. Having rough time getting to recoil spring? Any ideas? I have cover off but cannot dissemble the recoil unit and the plastic piece that the cord is wrapped around. second issue is the electric starter. Do I need a gear puller to remove flywheel? Help please…
