Hello from Michigan, I am looking for some help on a 1996 425 magnum 4×4
I picked up. It was sitting in a barn for a few years. It only has 400 miles
on it. Took some time to get it running. It ran good at low speed but missed
and back-fired when I tried to give it more gas. Thought it was a dirty carb.
Took the carb off and cleaned it. replaced spark plug. Checked valve
clearance. Checked cam. Compression is 120 psi. Put carb back on and it
started right up but it back-fired out of the carb as soon as I gave it any
gas. This was with the air cleaner box off. Put the air box on and it runs better but seems to bog out at higher rpm. Also having trouble getting the choke
and throttle cables adjusted right. Any ideas what I am missing? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi all, I have an outlander 800 xtp 2011 and when I go through a puddle at speed and it splashes up on to the quad I get the message "check dps " and my power stearing stops working. If I wait 5 minutes to let the water drain away and turn the bike off then back on it goes away and my power steering works again. It never comes on only when I get it wet, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
Hey y’all I’m running a looney tune single on my 2010 800xtp. Looking for suggestions what people recommend I get for a fuel optimizer? Hmf? Big gun? I know the hmf ones are designed to work best with hmf pipes but would that be my best option? Thanks in advance
Hi everyone got a question for you. I’ve been riding my new 2014 800 a bit more the last week now that the snow is more or less gone. Over the winter I noticed the quad wanted to pull to the right while driving it on the road. Thought maybe one tire was a bit low at the time and never really gave it much thought. Did some more checking the last couple days now though and it’s still pulling to the right.Tire pressures are all equal, there’s 121 miles on it now and everything is tight. Can’t feel any play on the pinch bolt in the steering column it’s never been hit or damaged so there should be no bent tie rods. Now the interesting part. I jacked up the front just to check things over a bit more. With the engine running the steering wants to pull back to the right when you steer to the left. Thinking this is not normal and the power steering needs to be recalibrated or possibly software updated although I haven’t found any definite updates listed for the 2014 yet.
Quads all stock yet although I plan on putting some maxxis zillas on it fairly soon. Saw one post where his dealer said it was due to uneven tire sizes but with the steering pulling back I’m thinking that’s not my problem. Just wanted to get others opinions on that before I start complaining to my dealer. Still 2 years warranty on it. I bought it used with 23 miles on it in Dec. Lady that had it bought it new in June of 15. Any bets if Can Am will waive the 50 dollar deductible with the low mileage?::sad: lol..
