Hello from Central/Northern Minnesaota…

Hello everyone. I have an issue with my new 2015 Sportsman 570 i purchased this last winter. There is a loud clacking noise between acceleration and deceleration. I’m told it’s normal when I speak to Polaris. It’s so loud that it sounds like a clunker!!! It’s very frustrating. I can even feel it through my body. I had a Sportsman 400 and 500 and it never made this noise. And it seems to lunge you forward when you first begin to drive. How much slack is too much slack? Anyone experiencing these same issues with their Sportsman 570? No Power Steering included and it does have EBS.

570SP or 850 Sportsman?

I’m new to ATV’s. Been riding dirt and Adv. bikes all my life. I’m now in my 60’s and due to a prothetic leg, can’t ride two wheels any more.

I also can’t stay away from the trails so I’m shopping for the right ATV. I’ve narrowed my choices to either the Sportsman 570SP or the base 850. Price is not an issue.

I don’t care about fancy paint or special wheels. I’m only concerned with the performance and handling.

I am mostly riding jeep trails and the desert out west. Ride Utah and Colorado in the summer and fall.

Any suggestions?

Hello From S.W. Ontario

Hey guys, new member and Polaris owner. I just picked up a brand new 2015 Sportsman 570 EPS from the dealership six day ago. All I’ve done so far is intall the Polaris 2500lb winch and the back box. I’ve taken it out pretty much every day since I bought it, putting on 150 kms. This is a great forum, I’m glad to be a member!

New to the ATV world

Hello All,

My wife and I just recently purchased a new 2016 Polaris Sportsman Touring 570 EPS. We are enjoying our ATV on the weekends when we have time to go out and ride here in Az.

I have a question, had anyone experienced problems with shifting on the Sportsman? Sometimes its so hard to shift it feels like the shift handle is going to break off.

Thanks,

AzRattler

G1 bumpers

Time to do something for a front bumper and winch mount for my 10 xxc. This past weekend i hit something and twisted the bumper pretty bad.

So far I’ve seen 3 options that meet my needs but I don’t really like either.
There’s the PRM aluminum one
BOMBARDIER CAN AM RENEGADE 800 FRONT BUMPER / 500 BUMPER DESERT W/ WINCH MOUNT
I like the aluminum and the big front plate but not sure how big of a winch actually fits. Also the tube doesn’t do it for me.

Winch Bumper for The 07 11 Can Am Renegade | eBay
This one has more low protection, but the tube doesn’t give a lot of protection for the lights or plastics

The wild boar gives the front end protection but the looks are a little off and I don’t care for the tube extending past the plastic. It looks like a spot that a branch would snag and either hold me up or do some damage with that much leverage so far from the mounts.

A google image search gave me some ideas and I found one that looks right but the website is gone. I think it was renegade junkies?

I’m probably going to have to make something myself since I don’twant to spend $200+ on something that I would either not be happy with or eventually modify.

Does anyone have any type of measurement or template for the lower section of a bumper and the mounting points? I would like something removableand I’mthinking a piece oout of both steel and aluminum. Maybe a steel frame with aluminum plate to cover any holes just to keep it a little lighter. Really looking for ideas and a starting point right now

2016 850XMR minor issues

Bought a ’16 XMR 850 and really like it other than a few small things I’ve noticed over the past 2 rides. I’ve read a couple people have noticed the same things so I want to get out to a broader audience and see if it’s a bigger issue. Bike has 50hrs/300mi. Purchased from previous owner at 37hr/237mi.

– The valves are loud as hell. Much louder than my buddies 850XT.
– Will creep forward/backward while in gear, especially during a cold start
– Shifter is fairly hard to move and sometimes will grind going in gear. Had it "jump" out of high gear one time at about 30mph also.
– Have heard belt squeal on 3-4 occasions while in low gear.

Linkage may need to be adjusted, valves tightened, clutch inspected. Previous owner could’ve glazed the belt badly and may be causing the squeal (after-all, it was his first Can-Am). Went to a dealership today just to compare other shifters and the ’16 Outlander I checked was stiff like my 850 but a ’16 XMR Renegade was like butter. Possibly the linkage design?

Has anyone else had similar issues?
