Hot cams

Hello guys I have a question I have have a 550 I just recently built to a 700 I installed cams and I think I may have some timing issues im not a real great mechanic but I can get the job done but I was just wondering if I would need to install the cam like it should be stock or should I advance or retard it for the best performance with a ported and polished head hc piston and a hmf slip on any helps will be greatly appreciated I’ve been having a lot of issues since the build and I’m just ready to be on the trails again

Thanks for letting me be apart of this form I’ve fond that it really has been helpful when I have problems with my grizzly I have a 2014 550 I just recently built to a 700 with hc piston ported and polished head hot cam pcv and a jbs extreme clutch kit and I’m running 32" silverbacks 2" lift and 2" wheel spacers

How much space????

Just did the lower steering stem update on my better half 550xp but now the power steering motor is touching the fuel tank, I know how to adjust this I’m just wondering how much space people have between the fuel tank/shield and the motor in the throttle side front wheel well.

Thanks in advance

How would you seal old holes in your back rest/storage box?

Hey Guys,

Im looking for some suggestions on sealing up some holes in my rear storage box. I want to seal them well enough that water doesnt leak in while spraying water on it with a hose when bathing her. 🙂
Whats making this more complicated than just using snug fitting stainless bolts and washers, is the holes aren’t actually round.
If you follow this link to my boxes manufacturer, you can see its ment to be attached to the quad with 1 inch wide nylon straps.

Quadraxatv.com, HI-VOLUME STORAGE BOX FOR SINGLE SEAT ATV’S

My box is bolted directly to my rear rack, im not using the nylon straps. Which leaves me with 8 holes in the box, approximately 1/4′ wide and 1′ long.

How would you fill these? Im thinking some tape on the outside of the holes as a temporary backing, and filling the holes level with a black marine like sealant like seakaflex, and removing the tape once it cures. But im not sure if it will stick well to the plastic box (I have no idea what kind of plastic is it?) or if these would be easily pushed through at some point with random things bouncing around in the back.

What would you do?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time

Alan
