Magnum 325 – oil leak on rocker cover?
Runs great but after running for about 5 minutes, noticed smoke coming off my exhaust pipe at the cylinder head and looked like an oil leak just above it (see attached-you can see the shiny area). I looked at the parts catalog for a gasket and couldn’t find a name (p/n) for what I’m calling the rocker cover, attached to the top of the head. I talked with FixMyToys and found out the only way I could get a gasket is to purchase that assy. which is $510. DOH ! I’ve also read there is a little hex plug in this leaking area used to check oil pressure at the head, could be loose ? I don’t see it.
The service manual suggests using 3Bond 1215 to create my own gasket. Bad idea ? Looks like my main concern would be the cam gasket area.
Hoping one of you folks have had this happen ? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Lots to learn !
Thanks
Uncle Dave

Safety Recall Campaign on 2013 Can-Am Commander Side by Side vehicles with DPS.
A safety recall campaign on 2013 Can-Am Commander Side by Side vehicles with DPS is being performed by BRP. On these models, the steering coupling splines may strip on the rack and pinion. All 2013 Can-Am Commanders equipped with dynamic power steering are subject to this recall and owners will soon receive a letter with more information.
We’re currently in the validation phase for a solution to this issue. We expect the parts for the fix to be available soon. This update will be performed free of charge to the owner.
BRP recommends that you avoid using your vehicle until the repair is performed. If you must use your vehicle in the meantime, you can contact your authorized Can-Am side-by-side dealer beginning the week of April 24th, 2016 to schedule a test of your vehicle’s steering system. Once that diagnostic is complete, your dealer will provide you with additional instructions and precautions on using your vehicle until the update is performed.
If you have any questions, please ask them here and we’ll do our best to respond.
Thanks,

Can someone please help with leak ?
I’ve siliconed the rubber breather at the bottom. Made sure the drain cap is on.
Could the air box lid possibly leak that much to keep it running?
When I gas it, it gets good suction and will cut off. BUT… the suction will release soon after. It’s definitely got a small leak.
Any ideas? Am I missing something?
Thanks!!
