Honda fourtrax 300 frames

Hey guys…new to the group. So I have a 98 fourtrax 300 2wd…my frame is just shot. So I’m looking to get a newer one…found one but it’s the older style 1991 or older…I have a feeling I’ll have problems trying to bolt some stuff on it. Anyone know what will fit and what wont?

Coil Corrosion

I have a total of 4 Kodiak 700’s (2016) and each one has alot of corrosion on the 2 brass tabs (electrical connectors + & -) on the top side of the coil. One Kodiak has had numerous starting issues especially after getting the coil wet, another Kodiak one of the brass connectors fell right off and now is not running and the other 2 are a few months newer and are already showing sign of corrosion on them. I was reading about all the Kodiak’s having stalling, starting and running issues (look at your Coils). I noticed that the issue is the coil design, it is concaved in on the top allowing water (either water you rode through, cleaned with or rained on) to sit on the top of the coil and run off causing corrosion to set in on the coil. I tried turning the coil upside down, but the leads are not long enough to allow that to happen. I took it to the dealer ship and was told that it would be 3 weeks till they could work on it and then approximately 2 weeks for the warranty approval and the parts to be ordered and installed, but all of this is a mute point because the coils are on back order till 23 July 2016. Like to see or hear from others that might be having this same issue. Attached are two pics, you can see how the coil is shallow and allows the water to sit inside the coil and the corrosion that has happened.

700 Twin New clutch or rebuild – need advice

Starting a new thread…

Rebuilt my 2003 700 motor over the winter, running great. I have a vibration that I have isolated to the primary clutch(vibration disappears with the clutch removed).

From what I’ve read, in order to rebuild the clutch, i will need a bunch of tools that I don’t currently own. I also understand that there are folks who will rebuild it for me, but that they often find that rebuild costs nearly what a new QSC clutch would be.

I also have questions about QSC vs EFI.

So – rebuild or buy new, custom or stock? Would love to have a little more jump from the start.

If you have experience in this area, feedback appreciated…

New in 2017

I’m been looking around at a new 2016 outlander 650 Xmr, but I’m wondering what might be new for 2017 since they upgraded all the motors but the 650. Does anyone have any thoughts on what Can-An might do with 650 for 2017? And does anyone think we might see fox shocks on the 650 Xmr since it’s only comes with the 850 and 1000r?

thanks for this forum
