Hello all, not to get into anyone’s business but what’s the 850’s going for these days? I’m considering adding one to my garage. Any info would be appreciated.

I just bought a 96 kodiak 400 4×4, the previous owner describe the transmission issue to me saying that sometimes first and 2nd would work, but usually only had 3rd 4th and 5th, said there was no popping or grinding noises ever, I got it from my in law so I know he’s being honest. I’ve scoured the internet for days and I’ve read every post I can find on kodiak 400 trabsmissions, but can’t seem to find a similar issue with a cause. I’m hoping it’s not a shift fork or something, i can’t find much info on these anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hope all is well.

Just recently I got my 08 renegade 500 rebuilt for piston slap by a reputable guy that builds racing bikes. The bike had 3000 miles on it and about 290 hours . Here’s the problem, when I went about doing the first oil change at 10 hours after the rebuild I noticed little black plastic bits in the oil filter which I think after doing some research is chain guides. Now I ALWAYS check my oil filter when changing my oil and I never had any plastic in it. I also have the updated chains as mine have an M stamped on them the old ones had DID stamped on them. So my question is can my chain guides wear so quickly (10 hours) or is it more likely that the guy rebuilding my bike could of done something wrong? What could he of done wrong? If some one could help me out it would be appreciated greatly.

While going through holes maybe to the top of the fender deep sometimes just over the front fenders my airbox is getting water inside. It is not getting water on the side that the filter is on which is where the snorkel attaches. There is no water in my oil and the bike has never been even close to the snorkel deep. If it were the airbox lid then that part of the box would be wet and it’s not. Can anyone please give me any ideas of what might be going on? I’m on a riding trip right now and will probably call the dealer when I get back if it requires a bunch of work. The bike is only a month old.

Anyone know where I can find some information on the swap, Ive heard it is possible to do, but cant find any info on it. Im interested in doing the swap for my 850 to get a little more grunt out of it. trying to not drop it as far as the highlifters are geared. I would like to use the 14 percent kit offered by other companies but they dont seem to have anything for newer than the 2011, which was able to be used if it had a shaft machined down.

Installing new front axles but can’t get stock axle to break lose, any suggestions or experience? Pushed in then wanked out put won’t budge.

I have I 2011 Polaris 850xp it has 43psi fuel pressure running but I was wondering when the atv is off does it need to hold that pressure or will it bleed off over over time while it’s off? I have a little gas smell in my oil and don’t know if my injector are leaking that’s why I’m curious on how long it will take the fuel pressure to leak down to be normal

I should receive my Rox Riser 5inch combo any day now my question is I have Tri – Mount brackets for my powermadd star gaurds from what I’m reading those mounts won’t work without modification and grinding the mounts. Any suggestions on what to do or what mount will work best with the new bars?:rocker:
