’04 400EX Jetting Help

Hello Everyone, I am hoping someone can assist me with some ballpark ranges. I have a stock 400ex that I’ve purchased a Yoshimura RS3 Full Exhaust system for, with a Uni filter and I plan on running with no lid. Could anyone give me the ranges of Keihin Main’s I should get to start my plug chopping as well as needle adjustments? Running a 42 Pilot.

2,100ft altitude and now that summer is here 80 to 120 degree temperatures outside. Barstow, CA.

Valve Adjustment

I am checking the valves on my 2015 Outlander with 50hrs and about 850 KM. I followed the procedure from the manual and some really good threads I found on this site. I am just taking my time and last night I finished Cylinder #2. Both the intake and one the exhaust were within spec but on the upper side of the spec. So I adjusted both the intake from 0.005 inch to 0.004 inch and the one exhaust from 0.007 to 0.006 inch and the other exhaust was already 0.006 inch. My concern is with the Lock nut on the valve adjustment screw. I couldn’t find anywhere a value to torque the locking nut. I just snugged them up with my 10mm wrench. I just don’t want these to back off. Just wondering what everyone else does. Also the valve cover bolts (according to the manual) only call to be torque to 62 in-lbs. I know it is only a plastic cover and rubber gasket, but this is my first time and want to make sure I do things 100% correct. Thanks for any information.

keep breaking footpad supports

I keep destroying these. anybody else?
I go through 1-2 a year. sometimes one side, sometimes both. Either plastic cracks/breaks or the bolts get broken, bent, or pulled through entirely. im sure its better to have the $30 piece of plastic break than the frame mount bend but damn.

think im going to hit the hardware store tonight and find shorter bolts. once tightened, the nylock nuts are usually sunk into the plastic but the bolts stick out 3/4 of an inch and probably catch on every rock, root, and rut I drive through. hopefully this will solve my problem.

also debating on using some of this thick and sturdy conveyor belt mat with fender washers to replace the plastic "waffle". maybe it will give a little more but still support the plastic floorboard. whatever I do I will follow up as to what is/isn’t working.

Big Horn on ss212

Hi there,
Recently I have got a set of 30 gorilla tires on with itp ss212 14×6 wheels, now as the summer comes I dont want to use gorilla tires and I want to put on the same wheels a set of big horns.
The question is : Can I put big horns on those wheels as big horns comes with different sizes on front and back?

Wheels : itp ss212 14×6
Gorilla : 30×9
But the big horns are 26×8 in front and 26×10 in back

Will the big horns fit my ITP wheels ?
