Well we have owned our 2 Kodiak 700’s for about 6 months now. We have put them thru quite a work out with just a little over 80 hours on the clocks that we installed to help keep track of services and oil changes. One thing that we did find out right off the bat was that the rollover check valve (under the seat and just to the rear of the fuel pump had to short of a vent line). The little 6-7 inch line that runs down the rear frame under the tail light. Everytime we even thought about getting in or near water the quad would run like crap, stall alot and was at times impossible to start and keep running. Then for shit$ and giggles we tried something, I went to the auto parts store and bought a 6ft length of the same size vent hose and routed the vent line up to the handle bar’s. (This was after draining the fuel cell twice and noticing water in the fuel), fresh 100% gas (non ethanol fuel is all i run), heat i.e water remover and she was up and running fine. Now having 2 of the same quads allows for mods to one and not the other, but the proof is in the pudding. After moding the first quad we had zero issues again, but with the other we continued to have the same issues so we did the mod on the 2nd one and have had zeros issues with either in 3 months, no mater what we drive through. Now remember a rollover valve is nothing more then a check ball in a tube that falls into a hole preventing fuel from running out when the quad is on its side or upside down. You can go back to that vent line and not only blow air into the vent line, but suck air out (so if this is possible on both then it is quite simple for water to get in and contaminate your fuel). Hey it cost me less then $3.00 to do this mod and a few zip ties to hold the hose to the frame up to the handlebars, what have you got to loose.
