Rollover valve and to short of a Vent Tube issues.

Well we have owned our 2 Kodiak 700’s for about 6 months now. We have put them thru quite a work out with just a little over 80 hours on the clocks that we installed to help keep track of services and oil changes. One thing that we did find out right off the bat was that the rollover check valve (under the seat and just to the rear of the fuel pump had to short of a vent line). The little 6-7 inch line that runs down the rear frame under the tail light. Everytime we even thought about getting in or near water the quad would run like crap, stall alot and was at times impossible to start and keep running. Then for shit$ and giggles we tried something, I went to the auto parts store and bought a 6ft length of the same size vent hose and routed the vent line up to the handle bar’s. (This was after draining the fuel cell twice and noticing water in the fuel), fresh 100% gas (non ethanol fuel is all i run), heat i.e water remover and she was up and running fine. Now having 2 of the same quads allows for mods to one and not the other, but the proof is in the pudding. After moding the first quad we had zero issues again, but with the other we continued to have the same issues so we did the mod on the 2nd one and have had zeros issues with either in 3 months, no mater what we drive through. Now remember a rollover valve is nothing more then a check ball in a tube that falls into a hole preventing fuel from running out when the quad is on its side or upside down. You can go back to that vent line and not only blow air into the vent line, but suck air out (so if this is possible on both then it is quite simple for water to get in and contaminate your fuel). Hey it cost me less then $3.00 to do this mod and a few zip ties to hold the hose to the frame up to the handlebars, what have you got to loose.

2016 Kodiak Fuel Pump

Has anyone heard of any fuel pump issues on the new Kodiaks.Went for a ride today and it wouldn’t start about halfway through the ride. When I turn the key I don’t hear the fuel pump coming on, I checked the fuse and it’s good. Taking to the dealer Tuesday. Just wondering if anyone has heard of any fuel pump failures.

Plowing when engine not broke in yet?

My new Kodiak has 14 miles. We are to get 12-18" tonight and tomorrow. I will be plowing but is it going to be bad for the engine to plow without it being fully broken in yet? I mainly bought it to plow and really don’t have time to ride much to get the miles on it like the manual states to be broken in. thoughts?

4 Hoses ?

What are the 4 hoses that need to be removed from Panel C before removing the panel. They come from under Panel A where the battery etc is… They seem not be attached to anything under Panel C, but what is there purpose? I need to get open Panel C to add some Coolant, but I’m afraid to pull them out.

Removing Panel ‘C’

I haven’t taken off Panel ‘C’ yet to get to the Coolant, plug etc… Any tips? I know there are a couple of tubes that need to be disconnected after removing Panel ‘A’. Manuel is a bit vague about the step – the rest is mostly bolts etc…

New Kodiak – 2 questions.

First, is it normal to hear a fan sound come on from time to time? Just had her out in the snow, and when running in park back in the garage I heard a fan sound coming from front radiator? Area…

And second, checked coolant level after I had been running for a while and it was on the bottom line. Says to check with engine cool… Was it low do to having been running it?

Thanks.
